The Sina Brufani is exactly what a luxury hotel should be. Beautiful, calm, well situated, excellent amenities, luxury linens, professionals, not "stuffy", great food, and everything in the best of taste. We cannot remember a hotel we have loved more. The view from our room was across rooftops to the beautifully groomed farms, ending in rolling mountains. Picture perfect.

We have visited Italy 8 times in the last 20 years and have stayed at many fine hotels but none can compare to the Brufani. We have stayed there 3 times, the first for our 50th anniversary. It is not just the physical facility, although it is superb, well located overlooking the valley. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and A/C quiet and efficient. The pool and spa areas are clean and very relaxing. But the staff is what makes this hotel special. The staff at the front desk, Eva, Tina and Hasson, called us by name whenever they saw us and they were always ready to help. Sara , at the bar, remembered exactly how we liked our drinks after the first time we ordered. Antonio, Lucio and Ahmed make each diner feel like they are the only ones in the dining room. The chef, Giachamo, prepares dishes upon request when given at least a day's notice and food is prepared beautifully. Antonio has always made us feel special, recommending dishes for us to try and wines that compliment the meal. He takes great pride in the meals that are presented. None of this happens by accident. Attention to detail starts at the top. The GM is Stefano Chiesa and he greeted us at the front desk on our first visit. Although he was out of town this trip, he made sure that everyone knew we were coming. We have never met a GM at any of the dozens of hotels that we have stayed at. That is why we keep coming back to the Brufani. If you visit Perugia and don't stay at the Brufani you are missing a real gem.

Location is superb, set fairly high and close to the "lazy" beautiful Piazza Italia so relaxing even when the mercury is 36c -37c. We were upgraded to junior suite on first floor very grand and quiet. Room cleaned and tidied to excellent standard. Air con quiet and efficient. Close to bus & rail links and many pavement side cafes & restaurants. Lovely views of Umbrian hills, valleys and lovely "old" buildings. Have a peep at night time also, lovely lights every where from this hill top view. Staff superb and very helpful. All area's very clean, including swimming pool, sauna & steam room. We stayed B&B food was excellent varied and fresh, other visitors complimented the dinner in the restaurants. Being British we took the chance to eat outside every night as we all know, don't get the chance to do this at home very often. This area of Perugia has a gentle buzz right up to midnight with people strolling along enjoying a blissful way of life. As previously said all cafes, restaurants and eating places were good with friendly service.Ten euros for city bus tour available in the Piazza Italia, try it, amongst the lovely buildings and areas on tour the narrow streets and steep roads will keep you focused....lasts fifty mins apprx.
