“Enjoyable cooking and wine experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I stayed 4 nights and did 3 cooking classes and 3 excursion The cooking classes were great and will take the recipes and cook at home. The farm accomodation is rustic so dont expect 4 star accomodation.

Being able to eat the food afterwards was great. We had organised wine tasting after the cooking class and was picked up in a luxury car and had a great driver.

some other people had just done a cooking class for the day which if I had booked again may have done only 2 days instead and having a car would be useful otherwise your choice is to catch a taxi to the city which costs 25 euros.

Felt very welcome in her home and Raffaela was very accomodating.

“We Can't Wait to Return to Let's Cook in Umbria”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

My wife, myself and two sons (19 & 21) visited Rafaella and her family at their farm in July 2013. It was a remarkable experience and after three months, since we attended, we are all still talking about it. The farm is located in a beautiful rural setting. There are vineyards, fig trees, olive trees, fruit trees, wild herbs and of course the chickens. It's hard to beat farm fresh eggs in the morning.

The accommodations at the farm were top notch and conveniently located relative to the kitchen where the cooking classes take place. The suites were fully equipped with a kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and TV. The cooking classes were phenomenal with many traditional Italian dishes on the menu. After each day's cooking class the participants enjoy the fruits of their labor and partake in a delicious meal. The meals are served in a quaint courtyard setting and are accompanied by homemade wine from the farm.

The other activities offered each day were educational and a lot of fun. The most notable activity was the Truffle Hunt with a very energetic Portugese Water Dog.

Rafaella and her family showed us an incredible amount of hospitality and really made us feel at home. We're already talking about when we will return and our sons usually initiate the conversation.

“Worth a side trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

We did 3 classes here with Stephania - all of which had very different menus which meant we learned a lot about Italian cooking. Stephania made sure we all got our hands dirty (with flour, etc) and actually got to try making things rather than just providing entertainment like so many "cooking classes". The format of cooking lunch, eating lunch together and then having the afternoon off is perfect. We stayed an inn with people that were attending more intensive (and expensive) Tuscany cooking class - they were exhausted and overwhelmed. Raffaella provides a much better balance. Pasta and desert recipes were modified for a gluten free class member and stories were told about the history of dishes. A great time. And we've used the recipes many times once we got home. Thanks to Stephania and Raffaella!

“5 days of pure bliss!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

We were a family of 9 adults and 1 almost-2-year-old, and we stayed for 6 nights with 3 cooking lessons. I cannot say enough good things about our wonderful time with Raffaella and Stefania. The setting is gorgeous and very quiet, and although the weather didn't cooperate, we had the best time ever! Stefania guided us through the creation of 3 DELICIOUS meals...We had so much fun with her and we were all eager to make the dishes when we got home! The accommodation was perfect, and Raffaella welcomed us with open arms. We felt totally at home. I look forward to visiting again! Thanks Raffaella for everything!!

“What fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

What a lovely way to spend a day, make new friends, and learn new things! Raffaella is delightful as was Stephania, our teacher. The family farm, "la volpe e l'uva", is in a gorgeous setting and as you arrive sets the tone for the day. What could be better than to make a delicious tart from cherry jam canned from the farms trees? Yummy!

Ours was a small group but we shared experiences while stirring, mixing, exchanging ideas and watching the stove and it proved to be a great way to get to make friends with my Australian classmates. I have already recommended the experience to others looking for a terrific way to get a genuine taste of Italy outside of the usual tourist experience.
