“Remember, it shuts down at 9:00 PM !”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Absolutely the best way to get into centro during the day, but it does close about 9 PM - we learned that the hard way last Christmas. Luckily my son was able to communicate in Spanish with a very nice Brazilian woman who worked in one of the resturants. We followed her on-foot down steps, around corners to a parking lot - and she drove us down! We haven't been able to fnd her to say 'thank-you'.

If you do want to stay later in centro, you can always take a cab down to the parking lot - about 10 e. That defeats the cost savings, but during the Jazz Festival and other big events, you may not find parking 'up the hill'. My second favorit place is Parking Pellini (if you can find it). Here you park for a fee and take a series of esculators uo to almost the top with a short walk to the main pedestrian walk in centro.

“the only way to fly”

The easiest way to get to the top of Perugia is via their Mini-Metro. Follow signs for either Mini-Metro or Stadio when you exit the Perugia ring road. Parking is free!
Tickets are Euro 1.50 each way. Enter the little train cars which look like people movers at various American airports & get off at the other end 12 minutes later. You are now in the center of one of the most, if not, the most beautiful medieval city in Italy.
Please note that the mini-metro closes at 9pm for your return to the car

“Wonderful”

This shuttle into town is clean, efficient and a great way to get about without the hassle of driving. The kids thought it was like a theme park ride. Well worth the money.

“21st century transport solution for an etruscan city!”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

Ample parking, sericed by bus routes, clean, efficient , and cheap. €1 gets you up & down (within a time limit) and stops at all major points , including the perugia train station and Rocca Paolina. Spits you out a block away from the old town centre.. GREAT!
