We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at CASA BRANCA, the food was all home cooked with a good variety and truly delicious. Good size pool. . Rooms small but adequate. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here for a relaxing vacation.

Emmauella and Paolo have created a lovely oasis in the Umbrian hills. They are a warm couple who went to great lengths to ensure our stay was a good one. The design of the house itself is a fantastic balance between contemporary and traditional. The rooms are nicely decorated, with attention paid to detail. The mattresses are firm and the pillows are soft and comfy. The bathrooms are big and you can tell that no expense has been spared here. The breakfast is small, but decent ... good coffee, fresh juice, home made breakfast muffins, cereal and toast with excellent home-made jams and a good selection of fresh fruit. Our children (3 and 7) enjoyed the pool, the hammock, running around on the hillside, playing with the friendly dog, Rubia and lounging on the sofas listening to the music on the stereo. They felt very much at home. They don't have two single beds for kids, but mine were fine with sharing the double. Our double room was next to the children's room in a sort of 'wing' that was separate from the other guests.

We had dinner on our first night and I think it was some of the best food I had while in Gubbio - well worth it!

There is no wifi (although I did find 'Alice' in the mornings, but it's a very flaky connection) and the internet connection is slow. THIS IS A GOOD THING. We were forced to relx - by not checking emails every minute and this made us totally slow down.

It's a 15 minute drive to Gubbio and a good base for exploring other local sites/attractions.

Highly recommend this warm, friendly, posh, bohemian, villa. It isn't really for the budget traveller, this is definitely a treat, but one that you won't regret.

We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at Casa Branca. The service and meals provided by Emanuella & Paolo were excellent. The location is ideal for day trips to various sights in Umbria.

Emanuela & Paolo have put their heart and soul into Casa Branca. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you are assured of warm and friendly personal attention throughout your stay. The ambience, the style, the pool, the rooms, and especially the delicious candlelit dinners all add up to one of the most special holidays you will ever experience.

We recently honeymooned in Umbria and stayed at this wonderful agriturismo. You can tell that hospitality is a labor of love for the hosts--even the marmalade at breakfast was homemade. The hosts were welcoming yet thoroughly professional, and even offered to help us with a glitch from the local laundromat. The rooms are inviting and artistic and the setting can't be beat. The only thing I wish we had done differently was to have Emanuela and Paolo cook for us every night--so take the half-board option! We were truly spoiled that evening by one lovingly-crafted course after another, local wine, and inventive desserts. Yum. Definitely worth another visit.

My wife and I toured the ancient (and, in late June, warm) walled cities of Umbria and the Marches for a week, returning to Casa Branca each evening. The inn is located on the western slope of a mountain in Branca, at an elevation that made for cool evenings. The valley to the west can be seen through the trees, and our nightly routine while awaiting dinner was to sit in the lawn chairs and watch the sunlight yield to the fireflies. The inn is well removed from the closest street (the one connecting Branca with Gubbio) and is obviously not near a flight path, because the silence, except for the birds, was complete. Emanuela and Paulo were terrific hosts. Their meals incorporated local produce in unusual combinations, that yielded delicious results. The chocolate moose was extraordinary - intensely chocolate yet light in texture. The local wines selected by Emanuela and Paulo were well-balanced and flavorful.

We stayed in the main house; our room had a queen bed, beamed ceiling, and thoroughly modern bathroom. Breakfast was served outdoors on the east side of the house, beneath a canopy of trees. Further east, about 40 yards up the hill, is the swimming pool. Its water was comfortably warm, thanks to solar heating during the day and the covering of a thermal blanket at night.

The inn is located about 10 minutes from a new hospital in Branca. One evening, one of the people with whom we were traveling had a back muscle go into spasm. Her husband drove her to the hospital at 1:00 a.m. where she was immediately admitted and treated without filing any paper work and without being charged. Emanuela had called ahead.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Agriturismo Casa Branca near Gubbio during our April/May 2008 visit to Italy. It is a delightful, comfortable, beautifully restored stone farmhouse with a pleasant yard in a quiet, country setting on a hill away from the crowds. The lovely owners, Emanuella and Paolo, provided warm and helpful hospitality, answering all of our questions in fluent English. We were enthusiastically greeted by their two friendly dogs, Biondo and Rubia. Our room was bright, airy, and simply furnished with a nice bathroom. That evening we were treated to a superb meal in their charming dining room followed the next morning with a wonderful breakfast.
