“Great hosts and fantastic setting”
Reviewed May 28, 2011

La Cuccagna is in a beautiful position and Sal and Sarah have done a great job in its restoration. The views are amazing and Sal and Sarah themselves are their greatest assets with their friendly and very helpful hospitality. The pizza night was great fun with 10 delicious homemade pizze for 8 people. The pool, though we didn't use it, is idyllic overlooking the stunning view. Bed was extremely comfortable so had really good sleeps. We really liked the simplicity of the room but there were several basic issues which needed attention and made the room somewhat uncomfortable and user unfriendly however when these issues have been addressed the room will be great. These have been mentioned to Sarah and Sal who have responded positively to say they will be implemented soon.

When we first saw the place, we decided that it was ever so beautiful as the pictures on the home page showed. Very helpful and nice hosts, marvellous views and clean and sober rooms. Every morning, the view took our breaths away when we stepped out the door. Our hosts had many good advice regarding restaurants and places to see.

This beautiful house has been renovated to a very high standard by Sarah and Sal, our very discreet, knowledgeable and helpful hosts. Suggesting hidden family run restaurants off the beaten track, arranging trips to local vineyards was all part of the service.
The pool was sublime, perched on the side of the hill, Perugia in the distance. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms calm and tranquil.
Salvatore bravely (given we were 10 women on a girls weekend) hosted a pasta making course which was great fun and actually taught me where I've been going wrong all these years!

Lovely and relaxing place to stay - we had an amazing time. We stayed in La Stalletta, a little gem for two, complete with kitchen and grill. Sarah and Sal offered up helpful suggestions for touring and eating, and were wonderfully attentive hosts. We can't wait to return!

La Cuccagna is a lovely house in a beautiful, scenic location. The views from the house are breathtaking. It is very peaceful and set in lovely gardens. Also has a lovely pool.
Sal and Sarah the owners could not have been more hospitable and welcoming, whilst remaining discreet and repecting our holiday.
The house was very clean and beds very comfortable. En suite bathrooms with good showers warm and powerful . Location is quite remote and a car is needed. We ate in a couple of excellent restaurants, reccomended by Sarah and Sal.
Loved the tranquility and "get away from it all" feel.

After staying with Sarah and Sal as part of our family holiday last year I was so impressed with the house, view, local area and their unobtrusive but generous hospitality, that I thought it would be a wonderful place for a long weekend away with ten girlfriends. Everything lived up to every one of our expectations. The view is quite stunning and one you never tire of - especially beautiful as the sun sets over the verandah and millions of stars start to appear overhead. Sarah and Sal made various suggestions to fill our days and we combined culture, relaxation and food and wine in various quantities! They booked everything for us in advance and it all went seamlessly. We dined in local restaurants that we never would have known about without them - no menus in sight! Sal has a pizza oven and we had one evening of his pizzas which was great fun. He also spent a morning teaching us how to make pasta which we then ate for our lunch - delicious! Sarah and Sal have a really good and intelligent knowledge of the local area and helped us get the most from everything we did. They are always on hand with suggestions but never impose or intrude. It was tricky for all of us women to get away, leaving behind instructions and fridges full of food for husbands and abandoned children. We had a lot resting on the success of our trip - these things happen once a year for us however our four days exceeded our expectations. We returned rested and content, happy, wiser(!) and perhaps just a little bit fatter! Thank you. Arrivedercci!
