A really wonderful spot to appreciate Umbria and all it has to offer. Sarah and Salvatore were perfect hosts ensuring our stay was as relaxed and effortless as possible. Both the house and garden have been beautifully restored, creating a real idyll in the heart of the Umbrian countryside.
An ideal location for exploring the local culture, with top tips provided by our hosts - do ask, they really know the area and can recommend superb restaurants and places to visit that you may not find on the tourist trail.
Sal is also an excellent chef - his home made pizzas and pasta making lessons come highly recommended.

Still the best holiday we have had as a family and everyone agrees. Started in Florence, drove down to La Cuccagna via lunch in Sienna (Piazza del Campo) and rested up for a week or so in the magnificent Umbrian countryside at the breathtaking La Cuccagna before travelling to Rome. The house is lovely, has amazing views and a great pool and the host family are really welcoming. I believe we helped christen Sal's home made pizza forno and the pizza he made for us was amazing, washed down with possibly too much home made wine and liqueur! If you are interested in visiting all the great spots, Assisi, Todi, Perugia etc then no better place to stay as its both off the beaten track but also near everything, but take a car! Highly recommended.

We have stayed twice at La Cuccagna and both times have been brilliant. A very warm welcome from the owners who provide excellent recommendations. Stunning views, comfortable and charming rooms, gorgeous pool....cannot find fault with this villa and it's location.

Wonderful week in wonderful surroundings. The location itself is an absolute oasis of peace and tranquility, high in the Umbrian hills. From sunrise to sunset the views are ever changing and never less than spectacular. The gentle chirp of crickets as the sun dips below the mountains is worth the accommodation fees on it's own!

There is plenty to do within easy reach (a car is required) from gorgeous medieval towns like Gubbio with it's insane 'bird cage' funicular railway, to Perugia and Assisi. For those preferring the outdoors, there are National Parks like Monte Cucco where a careful drive will take you to (seemingly) the top of the world.

Sal & Sarah's hospitality and hosting is incomparable - they were able to organise horse riding and even Microlight flights for us - try doing that in an big hotel chain!

The B&B itself has been lovingly restored to provide an authentic Umbrian farmhouse experience but with mod cons, luxuries and wonderful service. Everything has been well thought out right down to the memory foam mattresses, deck level pool and on site pizza oven.

Can't recommend La Cuccagna highly enough - the facilities, location, views, ambiance and hospitality are all pretty much perfect!

Sarah and salvatore are a charming and helpful couple and have a fantastic b&b in a lovely location. Views are fantastic and location is great for visiting the local spots. We stayed in the cow shed and thoughoughly enjoyed a relaxing week. October is a great time to visit as weather is still nice but places are less crowded to visit. Would defibitely recommend ro friends and family.

La Cuccagna was a vacation from our vacation. The location is peaceful and quiet, and the gardens and pool were lovely. Sarah and Sal couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful to us - they were so courteous and frequently made extra efforts for us such as calling around for dinner reservations. The room was very clean and comfortable and the premises are nicely set up and well cared for. If you want to relax and be pampered at a very affordable price, this is the perfect place! My only regret is that we didn't stay a week rather than just four nights.

Summer 2010 my boyfriend and I traveled Tuscany and Umbrie for 4 weeks, and by far La Cuccagna was the loveliest place we have stayed. Sarah and Sal breath hospitality, and welcomed and housed us with all the love and care they could give to us and the other guests. The beautiful, clean and especially cool room was only surpassed by the beautifal swimmingpool. The cclosest by supermarket is half an hour drive, but with the Pizza-night and gem-restaurants the owners organise and recommend, we did not need nor wanted to do our own groceries. For everyone looking for tat special place to relax, visted nice old towns and indulge in Italian food, La Cuccagna is the place I would recommend to all my friends.
