We arrived in Assisi after a long day of travelling and decided to dine at our hotel restaurant. We were welcomed warmly by Nicola who explained the dishes clearly and was patient and agreeable to our variations of the menu , when we wanted to share or have extra servings. The meal was perfect and flavoursome ranging from the different and delicious varieties of freshly baked bread to the original and beautifully presented dessert. We were hooked by the original and striking flavours and returned on the next two nights of our stay - which is rare for us. Highlights of our meals were the pasta and fagioli, the roasted turbot with leek and cream parmigiano with caramelized oranges, delicate salad greens with tender pieces of baccala , ravioli with black cabbage and creamed breadcrumbs, home made noodles with fresh tomato sauce and ricotta and vin santo ice cream with traditional Assisi pastry. We were impressed by the professional staff and the fine service including small appetizers and pre desserts. All in all wonderful, fine dining experiences which enhanced our Assisi stay . Each meal was a delicious and welcoming conclusion to our beautiful day of touring. Thank you to the fine chef, to Nicola and great staff including Tatiana. We sincerely hope to return in the near future.

The impression that really good food id hard to come by in Assisi is strong locally. The Nun is the best answer. It is different. There has never been anywhere like this before. Now it is here and will not disappoint. You must dig very deeply into your pockets but it is unlikely that you will be disappointed. The owners and staff are friendly rather than pretentious. The chef really wants you to like his very delicate food. They all seem to care. The food is a sequence of good things, each dish memorable in its own right.

We discovered this restaurant on our last night in Assisi and decided to cancel our booking at La Pallota and eat there instead. It was a perfect choice and it made our last night very special indeed.

The hotel restaurant is situated right outside the city walls, so it is very easy to walk to. The restaurant decor is minimalist and very stylish and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing.

The service was impeccable. The head waiter was friendly but not over familiar. He was very knowledgeable about the wines on offer and recommended a perfect bottle of wine for our meal, which happened to be organic! All the other waiting staff were also very professional.

The food was simply excellent. We chose this restaurant because it had a choice of fish on the menu (almost impossible to find anywhere else in Assisi!) and we were certainly not disappointed. We were served a wonderful selection of home made breads, a quail egg with truffle appetiser and a glass of sparkling wine before our starters arrived. The main course was delicious and my tuna steak was cooked to perfection, as was the locally produced rare breed fillet steak. The deserts were divine, and again, before they arrived we were given a complementary glass of desert wine and a chocolate mousse appetiser.

The cost of the meal was comparable to the other restaurants in Assisi in which we dined. The quality of the food and service were far superior to anything else we have experienced in Italy. We highly recommend this restaurant for a very special night out.
