“Tucked away in a corner”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Very old stone (as usual) architecture. Well looked after with a very nice courtyard with a low wall overlooking a small community. Other side has usual Italian shops and some very nice restaurants/cafe which we tried. The church is still in very good condition. A good place to stop for a couple of hours

“A place rich in history and holiness”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is the church that St Clare and St Francis were baptized in. It has so much rich history! It is beautiful inside--- and so holy and blessed. There are ruins underneath that are topped with a glass floor -- something very unique to experience!
I was there for the feast day Mass, and it was such an amazing experience! Definitely a wonderful church to visit!
And the pizza place in that piazza is so amazing.

“Place of peace and tranquility”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Assisi is very busy but to find some inner peace visit here. It has an aura of calm that envelops you from the moment you walk through the door. It truly has an impact each time I visit.

“Gorgeous cathedral with peaceful places to reflect and meditate”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

One of the oldest churches in Assisi. In the back left corner is a special chapel with a very old statue dating back to the 11th Century of Mary holding the wounded Christ. Go and sit in here for a while and feel your heart opening.
Under the Cathedral are the ancient ruins with exhibitions of works from the period.

“A Holy Place”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

It is a very nice place to pray in silence, since it a low-profile place , although AMAZING!
I advise God-lovers to go there and spend some time in silence.
