This is a truly unique setting. This incredible restaurant is above the ruins of a villa dating from 1st Century BC! There are glass floors so you can see the villa stones and tiles and there are other artifacts in cabinets in the restaurant. The owner apparently discovered the ancient villa when trying to find more space for the cellar which holds some great wines.
The decor is modern and classy and it is a perfect location for weddings and special events as well as romantic and corporate dinners.
The welcome and service was excellent and the food was creative and delicious.
The chef came out to meet the guests. His cooking shone.
We had the degustation which included a delicious amuse bouche, heavenly reggiano parmesan souffle, excellent pasta of tortelli with aubergine and buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomato sauce. The main of baby pork with chicken and prune plus zucchini mousse and potatoes was also superb. To top it all off was the divine varlrhona chocolate fondant. Wow!
Do not miss this restaurant in Assisi. It is up there with my favourite meals anywhere!

We dined at this most amazing restaurant after friends told us about it.

This restaurant has an immediate wow factor! The designer of this restaurant has mixed contemporary with old... like 70 BC. So there are chandeliers and contemporary acrylic seats with a clear plexiglass floor under you. As you walk you see the remains of a Roman floor and tile design from a Roman household. It was amazing. The staff was warm and nice.

The menu was eclectic and had many choices from rabbit to pigeon breast to pasta dishes. The atmosphere was awesome and the food wonderful. The prices were more than average, but I thought fair considering the location, Food, and Service.

I will say one of the best experiences for us! Don't miss it.

Great experience, very unique setting and a distinguished meal in Assisi. We arrived late after another restaurant we had planned on going to was closed. What an amazing find, the restaurant is based on top of the ruins of a centuries old villa, very beautiful setting. The food was superb and the service was very attentive.

We were part of a small tour group, our tour guide found this amazing restaurant. The entire tour group was in awe of the ruins visible through the clear floor, the food was delicious and presented beautifully, and we were treated with such kindness.

We had a very enjoyable evening at this restaurant. The food was amazing - really delicious. We sat on the glass floored area with the ruins and mosaics underneath - what a way to preserve and display history. The waiter took some time to show us round the archeology and explain the story of how they were found and key features of them which was really great.
A bit more expensive than most restaurants in Assisi but not massively so and definitely worth every penny
