“Fabulous setting for a family reunion”
Reviewed September 5, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We are an international family who held our family reunion at Casa Eden this year. There were thirteen of us most of the time and fourteen for a couple of days. The house easily accommodated our number of guests and could have easily handled additional people. Ian and Chiara, the owners, live nearby (who are lovely people) and could not do enough to answer questions, make recommendations, and make our stay more comfortable. The setting of Casa Eden is wondrous with breathtaking hilltop views of Vinci, vineyards, and the valley. The location was perfect as a springboard for visiting other cities in Tuscany. The kitchen is fully equipped so that you can cook or bake most anything you want. We were lucky to have a chef in the family :-) There is a large dining room inside, but we chose to eat outside on the porch with the magnificent views. The bedrooms were huge, the beds comfortable, and there were enough bathrooms to accommodate everyone. There is also a huge common room on the third floor with couches that we loved to gather in and talk of the experiences of the day (we did a lot of touring as a group) and play games. When we tired ourselves out with all the touring (Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Manarola, Volterra, Lucca, Siena, and Vinci. So much to see, so little time!), we stayed at Casa Eden and enjoyed the amenities (pool, BBQ, lots of lounge chair), and walked to a nearby restaurant with a terrace that has good food and awesome views. Ian and Chiara generously leave a bottle of red and white wine as well as olive oil made from their orchards. There is a cabinet in the hallway if you want more (that you pay for in the end).
We would highly recommend Casa Eden for large groups and family gatherings.

“Wonderful House. Beautiful View. Fabulous Host.”
Reviewed October 18, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We had such a wonderful stay at Casa Eden for a week in October. The farmhouse with its 7 bedrooms and its lovely views out over the olive trees suited our extended family of 11 just perfectly. The hospitality could not have been greater, as Chiara and Ian welcomed us warmly, helped us with reservations, restaurant selections and directions. Their communication in advance was clear and informative. They prepared an amazing Italian meal for us the day after we arrived, complete with local wine. It was a special treat to have the chance to share in the preparation of the meal while learning more about the Italian culture and cuisine. Casa Eden's location allowed us to see much of Tuscany through days trips while providing a quite retreat when we needed a bit of time to rest. We made day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, Florence and Vinci from the farmhouse. Casa Eden is a beautiful respite with a lovely view, which was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of travel. A car is needed, but we drove to the train station in Empoli and took the train into Florence to avoid the hassle of driving into the city.

We couldn't have asked for better accommodations! And we never imagined we'd find such great hosts!

“Fabulous family holiday location”
Reviewed January 27, 2014 for a stay in August 2013

It has taken me a while to get this review in. We visited in August 2013, my brother and sister in law booked the villa and travelled from the USA, and we had friends and family from the UK join us for a few days at a time throughout the two weeks.
The house is lovely, perched high in the hills with spectacular views. The kitchen is very well equipped, and we had lots of family meals together around the dining tables, of which there are lots of options, formal large dining room, smaller table, kitchen table or outside. The range of bedrooms and bathrooms suited our mixed party ranging in age from 8 to 70+.
We had a lot of fun in the pool, lounged around in the sun, and visited Lucca, Florence and Pisa. Though you need a car for the top of the hill, we had more guests than car spaces and shuttled between the bus stop in vinci and the station in empoli, which meant we could do days out on the train with our whole party. The connections were pretty good.
We also spent a lot of time in the local pizzeria, which was walking distance, cheap and great quality. Even fussy eaters in our party found a pizza to their liking.
Ian and Ciara were very friendly and helpful, and made us very welcome. We were very partial to their wine, limoncello and olive oil and had a fabulous holiday.

“The cherry on the wedding cake ...”

Perfect venue for our wedding parties accommodation. Getting married in Florence wasn't supposed to be this easy but Ian and family made our time in Tuscany very easy. We had a mix of ages staying at the villa from 20 - 82 and it worked perfectly for all, Vinci being close by served well for afternoon coffee and small walks, whilst empoli provided bigger shopping for the weeks needs and the alcohol for the wedding! Day trips to Venice, Florence, Pisa and the coast proved simple enough however returning back to casa Eden always put the biggest smile on our faces, relaxing and homely waking in the morning and dropping into the pool whilst reviewing the sun rising above the hills will leave the fondest memories for us all. Thanks again the cuddeford/Palin clan.

We had a fabulous time at Casa Eden!! Thank you, Chiara and Ian! The house is situated on top of a hill that has stunning views. It's peaceful and quiet and there was plaenty of room for the 12 of us family members (as well as enough bathrooms). Chiara, Ian and their daughter Rebecca were great hosts and had lots of suggestions for us while we were there. The house is in Vinci which is about 30 minutes from Florence. We stayed two weeks total in the villa and we took many day trips to other cities. Oh and the house is stocked with wine at only 6 euros a bottle :)

“Wonderful”
Reviewed November 26, 2011 for a stay in October 2011

Casa Eden was all we were hoping for in our Tuscan holiday. It was easy to find, and we found the house was lovely - perfect for our group of 10 (3 families). The views were amazing. It is surrounded by olive groves and is very peaceful and quiet. The layout of the bedrooms were great - the teens in the group had a floor to themselves which they loved. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked and easy to cook in for a group.
Ian and Chiara were always very helpful, giving us advice on how to get to all the different sites in Tuscany. Because they both speak english it made it much easier. Vinci is quite central so it's not long to any of the wonderful towns and cities. You do need a car to get around, but we also took the train on Ian's advice.
