We stayed just two nights in Marcos House, but it was great. When we arrived he gave us some selfmade wine and his wife baked a cake for us. It was very nice and we will definitely come back again.
First & foremost, the directions that Marco gave were very specific, he quickly met us at the landmark, where we then drove 10 minutes to the rental house, which was just spectacular. Marco was a great host and even brought us two bottles of Chiante along with a pie his wife had made. We were 6 in our group, and the three bedrooms were perfect for all of us. We were also able to cook a nice meal & wash our laundry, which was perfect for our travels. The house was situated in the picturesque countryside, and our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. Can't wait for our next visit and Marco's house will definitely be our #1 choice.Thank you Marco for your hospitality.
Firstly I want to thank Marco for being such a brilliant host! This was a perfect holiday destination, the house was fantastic and exceeded all of our expectations. Costaberci is brilliantly situated for exploring Tuscany or for just staying put and relaxing. When we come back to Tuscany, this is where we will stay!
The house is completely private and enclosed by laurel hedges with a lovely garden and terrace and excellent views of the Tuscan countryside (you can just make out the tower in Siena). Marco was the perfect host explaining how to use everything in the house (and the hot tub) and even gave us a bottle of his father's olive oil (which was so delicious that we bought some home with us) and when he left he told us to eat the peaches from the tree and to contact him if we needed anything at all.
All of the rooms are well equipped, clean and very comfortable, towels and bedding are provided and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, cutlery, plates, glasses, stovetop espresso etc; there's even a dishwasher and washing machine. Within a 10 minute walk there is an ice cream shop and a couple of shops selling local produce (€1.90 for a litre of decent red wine and an amazing aubergine salad) and there is a restaurant about 1 km away. The supermarket is only a short drive and in Castelnuovo Berardenga itself (about 6km away) there are some fantastic restaurants and the the best ice cream shop we went to.
Siena is about 6km away, Florence was just over an hour's drive and it only took an hour and a half to drive to the very beatiful seaside resort of Porto Santo Stefano; the countryside is beatiful to drive through and there are endless places to explore.
Please come and stay at Costaberci, you will not be disappointed by the house or by Marco's hospitality; we recommend it unreservedly.
