Right in the heart of old Siena, this hotel was easy to find. You climb 2 flights of stairs and are greeted by friendly staff. Our room was in the attic, and I would only recommend this room for young people as you have to climb 2 narrow spiral staircases to get to it. Once there, the room is nice, with a very small balcony overlooking siena. The shower is over the toilet which we found awkward but ok for the short stay. Overall a good hotel but possibly a tad overpriced.

Small but tidy room with toilet and shower. Even with the 32 stairs to climb, it would have been ok... except for the noise. Our room looked over the piazza and a political rally was set up in the afternoon...3 or 4 people were on the stage with no audience. Yet they insisted on playing music (Queen, etc) at full volume into the night. Other groups came into the piazza during the night with music blaring from their cars. This continued until 3 am. We've stayed at equally noisy places but double glazing kept the noise at bay. There was no double glazing here so we bore the full brunt of it.

The location is perfect for sightseeing! Siena is absolutely amazing - the Piazza del Campo was around the corner from the hotel - and we fell in love with the city as soon as we arrived! It felt safe to walk around and the restaurants were fantastic! It was a little noisy with the windows open, but that is what made it - the sounds of the city - perfect!

Perfect location-- probably the closest hotel to the main Piazza. The staff were very helpful and their English was great. The only downside was that the rooms were small and bare, but they were also very clean.

The double room in the attic has an awesome view-- but it involves walking up a VERY steep spiral staircase that probably can't be climbed with a suitcase bigger than carry on size. The double room on the 3rd floor (the same floor as reception) overlooking the courtyard is nice, and quiet.

Definitely recommend!

The rooms were clean and nice enough but poorly insulated. In my room, the window wouldn't even close all the way, letting in cold October air, so that it was freezing even with the heat on full blast. The bathrooms were a bit awkward, with no shower floor separation and very little shelf space. The staff was friendly but annoying and not helpful at all. Don't expect free maps, restaurant recommendations, or really any relevant, genuine advice about what to see and do in Siena. This place is an okay place to stay, but you can probably do better.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at La Perla Hotel in Siena. The exterior is pretty plain (although it is fascinating that the building is from the mid-1700s--before the US was even a country!) The room was very comfortable and clean, although in typical European fashion, pretty small. The best part was the amazing view out the window of the small piazza outside. The hotel is only a couple blocks away from the Piazza del Campo and campanile, which is the main tourist draw to the city. For our needs, La Perla was perfect!

I wanted to share my positive experience of staying in this hotel. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet piazza, minutes from the main square Il Campo. The hotel has a bijoux feel and is totally un-pretentious.

My twin room was small but uncluttered. When I opened the wooden shutters I saw the most beautiful view of the buildings surrounding 'my own piazza'! The room was quiet. The bathroom is compact but had a great power shower!

I would highly recommend this hotel for value, pleasantness of staff as well as the super location!
