“An unforgettable few days in a castle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

A beautiful castle allowing for a very unique experience. We had a rental car so it was very easy to get around. It was peaceful and quiet 3 night stay, and the views of the Tuscan countryside, with Siena town in the distance were breathtaking! We had the Blue Room which was spacious and comfortable, and were made to feel so at home by Valeria and Nicola, who were also very helpful and accommodating. The booking process was so easy, and the free internet very much appreciated. We were given excellent recommendations for dining out and sightseeing.

We were happy to dine out at a restaurant called Le Pietre Vive (The Farm House) that was 15 minutes further out from town which was lovely, serving beautiful food grown on the farm, with the chef coming out to personally chat to you about your likes and dislikes and his recommendations on his specialties.

Authentic castle and our favorite stay. It was relaxing. It was unique. And I have a hard time describing how we felt when we arrived - maybe surreal? It was incredible. We could easily get to town in a cab for 10-14 euros. Or you can walk 1/2 mile or so to the bus that can take you to town for less. We stayed in the blue room with a great view of the hills and the city of Siena. Our kids played in the fields out back and we lounged in the yard. I'd love to return in September when the olives were ripe and vines were full of grapes. My husband ran early in the morning and saw several deer. I ran later and saw one as well. The kids loved the cats and I actually enjoyed them as well and I'm not a cat fan, but they just fit in with the castle. The breakfast was great - loved the cappuccinos and the best croissants as well as the prune jam. I can't say enough about this place because it's authentic castle life. Our kids are 10 and 12 and the blue room was spacious enough for us. This is a must stay if you are in Siena. We stayed 3 nights and from here we spent a day in Siena and a day in Florence (take the bus, not the train). We would love to go back, but would rent a car and tour the Tuscany area and use this as a home base. Thank you for the lovely stay and lovely breakfasts!

Room Tip: Blue room is large hotel room even by American standards with a very large bathroom. Tower would pr...

Beautiful castle in the gourgeous Italian countryside. Nicola was very friendly and helpful during our stay in the blue room. The room was large and spacious and had excellent views. Breakfast was delicious and the other 2 couples staying in the castle with us were very friendly. We stayed 1 night on our way from Rome to Cinque Terre and I wish we could have stayed longer. We had dinner at their family restaurant called Le Pietre Vive (Farm House) which was about 10 minutes away and it was awesome! Nicola offered to give us a ride there but we decided to drive ourselves as we wanted to see Sienna at night after dinner. The food was delicious, the waitress was very friendly and the chef came out to every table and was funny. It was an exceptional Italian experience!

Our experience at Castello delle Quattro Torra was amazing. We stayed in the tower room which has incredible sweeping views of Siena as well as the surrounding Tuscany country side. I also really appreciated the beautiful quiet solitude the castle afforded. Very peaceful. It is best if you have a car but, if you do not it is a 10 minute taxi ride into Siena at a cost of 12-15 Euros each way. Although we did not have a car it was still well worth staying there. There was a unique restaurant called Le Pietre Vive (Farm House) that was 15 minutes further out from town which I highly recommend. Although we didn't have a car Nicole was kind enough to give us a ride there. All and all staying at the castle was one of the most unique and enjoyable part of our trip to Italy.

Room Tip: The tower room was very quiet and had wooden shutters to block out the sun light.

Words don't quite sum up the wow factor that come with the vistas and the surroundings of the castle - what an experience! The hospitality was wonderful, the tower room perfect, and the breakfast was delicious! I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will stay again the next time we're in Siena because the Castello delle Quattro Torra is quite perfect!

Beautiful... and soooo cool ! Nicola and Valeria were so hospitable, warm and friendly. The castello is amazing and the views are exceptional. What a wonderful location. Taxi 15 euros if you don't have a car. Nicola's farm and restaurant were exceptional and OMG the cooking class with Nona was so much fun. Wonderful experience of a lifetime :) Merci !!

If you don't mind being outside the city, the tower room is a Tuscan dream come true! Taxis are easy to arrange if you don't have a car and cost about 12-15 Euro each way. The castello is clean and quiet. the owner Nicola and his assistant Valeria are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is arranged personally for you daily and eaten with the Tuscan landscape spreading in front of you. Unforgettable!
