We came here after some time in Rome and it was a beautiful escape from the city. Wifi in the tower not great... but when you consider where you are, it doesn't really matter. It is comfortable, warm and beautiful and I feel lucky to have been able to stay here if only for a few nights. The woman who greets you is also extremely nice and friendly. Highly highly recommended.

We stayed at the castle for 4 nights on our trip to Italy in December 2013. The castle is over 700 years old and amazing. Clean, quiet, beautiful scenery! Nothing can compare to waking up and looking out over Siena beyond a field of olive trees. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Florence is nearby as well as the Chianti wine region. Warm and comfortable and clean bed and bathroom accomodations. Absolutely recommend this !

Room Tip: We stayed in the Blue room, but there is also an apartment.

Our five night stay, in late October, at this wonderful family run castle was a dream experience! For us, it remains the highlight of our two and a half week trip in Tuscany. The beauty of its structure as well as its family and historic record are impressive. Nicola, his mother and entire family went out of their way to make our stay a perfect experience!

We dined at the excellent and unique Farmhouse restaurant where we experienced a 5* Italian never ending meal! We also took group cooking classes with Nonna Ciana where some produce was collected from the farm and Castello wine was flowing. Everyone loved OUR food ,the Tuscan ambience and the friendly staff who e-mailed us a copy of each wonderful recipe.

We stayed in the Blue Room with its panoramic views of Siena. It is a huge, clean, warm space with free wifi, and a humongous, but lovely, green & white tiled bathroom. This room is only steps away from that freshly baked and prepared breakfast in individually set tables in lovely dining rooms.

Although we didn't have a car, we managed to easily get to Siena and the Castello delle Quattro Torra using taxis and local transport. We arranged daily Tuscan and area Bus tours. Getting to and from Rome was easy if you took the Sena Bus Line from the Rome Bus Station which is beside the Tiburtina Station. It leaves at 10A.M. and takes 3 hours to get to Siena where you get off at the PIAZA GRAMSCI bus stop and walk 100 metres to the taxi stand.

We would definitely recommend a Castello stay for anyone wishing a unique, warm and hospitable Tuscan experience.

I chanced upon this place on booking.com and it turned out to be one of my favorites among the dozen places we stayed during our three week family trip through Italy. The setting back in the hills in an olive grove is beautiful and serene- though just a short drive to lively Siena- and the apartment we rented there was spacious and clean, yet full of authentic antiques (plus a washing machine!) and had views out the window that looked like Impressionist paintings in the autumn light.

Breakfasts upstairs at the castle were wonderful with fresh-baked cornetti and home-made jams, served by an exceptionally nice staff. Our girls (ages 11 & 8) really liked going up into one of the towers after breakfast, too.

Nicola was a great host. He worked hard to make sure we had a good stay, from arranging a truly memorable dinner at his farmhouse restaurant, Le Pietre Vive di Montaperti, (Chef James charms as both entertaining host and consummate chef) to scheduling cooking classes upstairs at the farmhouse with his Nonna Ciana, which was a wonderful experience we are still talking about, and we've been back a month. Nicola is obviously very busy, but also he is very friendly and likable, and we feel like his endeavors allowed us to see a side of Siena and Tuscany we might have (tragically) missed had we just taken rooms in the city.

We stayed only for one night in the tower room on May 14th. It was beyond our expectations. We went to check out our room and the view from the tower was beautiful- you can see buildings from the heart of Siena from one window and the rolling Tuscan hills from the others. We found a room with a nice breeze blowing in the open windows, singing birds and a beautifully furnished room in the tower of a castle built in the 1200's. Absolutely magical. Nicola, our host was kind and humble. We would highly recommend a stay here if you ever go to Siena. You won't be disappointed. Take the cooking class from Nonna, too! We hope to return someday and stay longer.

All the reviews are true. Its great staying here.
We stayed in the castle room and all of the positive things said in previous posts are all true.
I wanted to add that while in the room the bed is on a different level than the bathroom so if you go a lot during the night you might want to go with the one of the two other rooms in the castle. Also, i'm 6'3 and 250 lbs and the circular staircases were a little tight in the castle room. We stayed 4 nights and loved it but if you are any taller and/or larger you might want to go with one of the other rooms in the castle. There are 2 cats that live in the living area(which is large and super comfortable) so if you are super allergic you might want to think twice about this place. Wi-fi works great in living area but does not work in the castle room which was actually nice because it kept the wife and I off of it in the room.
We did the cooking class associated with the place and loved it. Any questions about anything, don't hesitate.

Not my first stay in a castle in Tuscany, but most definitely the best! The family that runs this beautiful establishment is on premise much of the time and very concerned with the quality of their guests' experience. We were delighted with the charm and beauty of this castle. The view from the tower at sunrise is pure magic. There may not be a more sublime experience to be had in Tuscany. Breakfast was light and lovely. In the upstairs common area there are many bottles of red, white, and sparkling wine to purchase (for next to nothing, I assure you), and this made coming home at the end of a day of sight-seeing something to look forward to! There were also stocked mini refrigerators in the room with beer and water available for purchase as well. The castle is tucked away on a quiet hill, but a stone's throw from Siena. There are castle cats that will reside in the common areas but will not bother you; they are simply part of the charm. We stayed in the blue room and were delighted with the bathroom and shower as well. On one particular morning I was able to watch deer frolicking in the yard as I showered. There is no doubt in my mind that a return trip to Italy would demand a return trip to Castello delle quattro torra.

Additionally, you must book a cooking class with Nonna Ciana! It was a top experience for our entire family.
