Family run accommodation located on the outskirts of Siena. We had a car so that was no problem. The family have a small vineyard and olive grove, we were privileged to be given a couple of bottles of wine. There are three basic rooms opening into a communal dining room and kitchen. Our room had a fridge. We stayed for 8 nights and made good use of the kitchen facilities. It was a good base to explore the rest ofTuscany

The view and the grounds are ridiculously more beautiful than the pictures suggest that are on the internet. The place is not far from Siena at all and easily accessible by taxi or car. Not sure if there is AC or not but we didn't need it. No breakfast but a full apartment with kitchen appliances was available if you wanted to make your own. Just what we needed; a positvely stunning view, nice room, and ultimate relaxation.

From the moment we arrived, I knew we had picked a winner! Initially we thought we would stay in nearby Sienna, but I was desperate for the "Under the Tuscan Sun" dream. The owners are delightful and friendly-offering us a welcome drink to get a taste of their winery.

The views from our room and the shared terrace were absolutely stunningly breathtaking! One night we decided to stay in and just get a pizza from a nearby pizzeria, buy a couple bottles of chianti and watch the sunset over the valley. There is also a kitchenette if you are so inclined to prepare your own food. Breakfast is not included so you must find a store to pick up some food or you could simply go to a cafe in Sienna.

I don't think a photograph could do this place justice. Just dream of the most ideal Tuscan landscape and it truly is the view from your room.

Only 15Euro by taxi to this gem!
Not far out of the way.
Very quiet....great hosts...they make their own wine and sell it to the guests...great wine!!
3 rooms total and a newly added single detached unit adjacent to the house....beautiful views....
Bring your own food/drink as their is none nearby!
Their is a bus that will drop you off nearby but it's schedule varies.
Would stay again for sure.
Absolute peace and quiet.

Accommodation - we had the most relaxing airy room of our holiday and the views took our breath away. Was great having access to a kitchen and roof patio, plenty of room if you want privacy from anyone else staying there or alternatively put your tables together and have an evening feasting on the host's amazing wine and olive oil like we did!

Owners: Lovely family, couldn't have been more helpful.

Food: If you are lucky enough to be there when the restaurant on the adjoining track is open, be prepared for the biggest wine list and possibly the most delicious meal of your life.

Directions - blink and you'll miss the track to the house, which is on a bend going out of Siena; Malafrasca is even smaller than a hamlet! Ideally placed for exploring Siena a few mins away by car, we stayed for 3 days and visited the Chianti wineries and Montepulciano from there too.

Of all the places I've travelled to, this is one I really would go back to.

The views were unbelievable and the accomodations were great. The place has a large patio area that we used a few nights to sit outside, enjoy the view, and have some wine. The only downfall is that a car is needed if you stay here as it is about a 5-10 min drive to town(parking lot). There is a restaurant that is walking distance but as far as we could tell it is not open on Mondays or Tuesdays and the owners of Malafrasca weren't sure of the hours either.

  • Liked — The view
  • Disliked — Driving to town each night for dinner (it limited the amount of vino we could enjoy)
