First of, you'll need a car to get to here. Then again, it's Toscana - you should be in a car.

Gianni, the host is a warm and nice guy. A native to the area, he is rightly proud of Siena & Toscana. He did provide us with good advice on where to go & what to do.

Rooms are big and nicely decorated. The breakfast is in a room in an adjacent building and the lay-out of the breakfast spread is the best we've seen in Italy.
As there are limited rooms and the room rate meets your budget, I would definitely recommend this place.

This is a great place to stay in Siena - it is out of the way and in an nice rural setting but only a 15 minute walk to the escalators that take you close to city centre - the walk itself is pretty amazing.

Gianni and his parents are very friendly and always helpful - they feel like family very quickly.

The accommodations are excellent and the breakfast is great and plentiful with lots of variety. It was great to return!

Room Tip: All the rooms are good

We recently spent 3 nights at Podere Il Pero on a 3 week trip to Italy. The B&B is charming and spotless with a great breakfast including home made baking and jams. The location is perfect as It is a 15 minute walk up the hill to old town Siena, and there is a bus that runs if the hill is too difficult a walk. At the same time there is parking at the B&B and we rented a car and toured some of the local hilltowns. There is a relaxed easy going feeling here where you can have a glass of wine or hang clothes to dry in the large garden. We can't say enough about Gianni! He was always available and so helpful, providing us with information about the towns and routes we should take. He even drove us when we were running late to catch the bus from Siena to Florence after returning our car, way above anything we could expect! We would not hesitate to recommend Podere Il Pero!

During our eight day stay we had a fantastic time! Gianni (speaks good English) and his parents (very limited English) were our gracious hosts. Every morning the breakfast was delicious and plentiful with fresh fruits, cheese, pastries, cereal, eggs, etc. The very pleasant setting with a very nice outside area (covered, lighted, and bug zapper) was very convenient for couples traveling together to have wine, cheese, etc. and play cards. We were given great suggestions on restuarants and sights to visit. It served as our base to visit the hill towns. We highly recommend staying there!

We traveled to Italy with two other couples in September and we spent eight nights at Podere ll Pero, using it as a base to tour the many hilltowns of Tuscany. We can't say enough good things about this property and the owners, Gianni and his parents. While Mama and Papa speak only a little English, Gianni was there every day to help us with our many questions about directions, restaurants, etc. Everyone made us feel so at home.

The property is just outside Siena and there is parking on the property - a big plus if you have a car rental. It was a short drive to a carpark outside the walled city. Yet we felt like we were in the countryside staying here.

The property is lovely with many trees and plantings. It is obvious that the family takes great pride in what they have here. The rooms are large and nicely decorated. There are four rooms, each with a private bathroom, that open onto a common area. The rooms do have air conditioning for warmer nights. Everything was spotless. There is a nice outside canopied area for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening and watching the sun set over the hills. The breakfast room was beautifully set each morning with an array of cheeses, meats and delicious pastries.

We would also like to add that these accommodations were a very good value for the Siena area.

It was sad to say goodbye because we had enjoyed this place so much. We highly recommend Podere ll Pero to anyone traveling to Siena.
