We have just stayed for three days and feel wonderfully rested. It wasn't an auspicious start, we travelled through torrential rain, had difficulty finding the place and we arrived to find that the storm had knocked out the power, so no lights or water! However, the owners remained calm, and showed us to a beautiful room with majestic views over Tuscany, gave us a map and directions for Siena and set us on our way. 5 minutes walking got us to the Porta Romana and that became the pattern for the next couple of days - stroll into the city for some low- pressure sight-seeing (and there are plenty of sights!), lunch then back to the hotel for a couple of hours reading on the terrace. Off for dinner, then back to the hotel for a drink under the stars. Everything about the hotel lent itself to this relaxed style of tourism, from the lazy breakfasts outside to the desire of the staff to make everything the way you want it. We can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting Tuscany in July. I was worried that my expectations would be too high after reading all of the excellent reviews. Well I have to say, I was not disappointed!! We were warmly welcomed by Giacomo who led us to a beautiful room with a stunning view of the Tuscan hillside and the walled city of Siena. He was extremely helpful with everything from dinner suggestions to planning our day trip through the Chianti region. We loved siting outside for breakfast and even brought in wine and cheese on night and ate dinner in the lovely lower level seating area. Yes, it is a bit of a hike to get to the center of town but there is a bus and if you choose to walk, you can eat more pasta!!

Giacomo - we missed you as soon as we left!!!

We had a fantastic three night stay at Palazzo di Valli in July 2013! Very welcoming and helpful! Sofian went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing! Although it was a short bus ride away from the main attractions, the view and friendly staff made our stay incredible! Would recommend to anyone!

The palazzo is a beautiful house with an amazing view. The rooms were very elegante, large and full of light, everything was clean, and the views were very special. We stayed only one day, I wish we could have stayed longer. We bought some cheese and fruit in town and had our food outside in the terrace as the sun went down. Breakfast was excellent and the service people were nice and helpful. We have no complaints, everything was perfect! The location is great, right outside the old city, where we could easily walk. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

A little piece of heaven in the heart of Tuscany. The rooms are great with breathtaking views of the rolling hills. It is a short walk into the centre of town.

Service was impecable and very friendly.

Staying here was the perfect experience of Tuscan elegance. Giacomo and the staff were so incredibly welcoming, helpful and accommodating with any enquiry and need (travel adapters, restaurant recommendations etc). The room itself was simple but the view from it was what made it special. The buffet breakfast was really good with a wide section of choices, so we were all satisfied before heading in to town to explore. My two children would run through the pear and olive trees while we sat and watched the view of the surrounding town and hills. Glorious! The hotel is situated just outside of town so it was a lovely escape from the tourist crowds but not so far removed that this was a problem at all. We loved the location, service and setting.

Just a five minute walk from the Porta Romana, outside the walled city of Siena, we found a piece of heaven in the Palazzo di Valli. When the cab turned into the rose-lined driveway I drew in my breath at the sight of the Palazzo, entrance surrounded by lush hanging flowers, Lorenzo running down the steps to greet us. The terrace view is postcard ready, the atmosphere one of complete peace. It almost didn't matter what the room was like, though it was fine. We rearranged the desk so that I could write while gazing out the window at the endless hillside. Breakfast was substantial, great coffee, cheerful faces and Giacomo was especially warm, full of local history, museum and restaurant recommendations. By all means have the once in a lifetime experience of dinner at the Campo, ten minutes by local bus, but don't miss the gourmet Fori Porta Ristorante which is just across the street from the hotel, serving a sophisticated menu of Sienese specials. When you return you can sit on the terrace with a last glass of wine and admire the lighted towers of Siena.

Room Tip: We had two large suitcases so were relieved to have a ground floor room, but if there was an elevato...
