Disponibili anche tavoli all'aperto nelle terrazze sospese!

Numero Unico is an absolute delight and I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant for those visiting Siena. I approached it from a side street and there was no-one seated at the outdoor terrace, which was a little uninspiring. The menu looked interesting and as I was reading this the chef came out and invited us to take a table inside. The interior is cool in shades of grey and white. The restaurant is split across several dining rooms and we sat at the front overlooked by two huge black and white photos of Palio crowd scenes from the 1960s, stylish and interesting.

The food is wonderful, I had lovely soft gnocchi to start, see photos, served in a vibrant pesto sauce. I followed this with a lovely tender, herb crusted pork dish served with the most wonderful vegetable cakes. This was my favourite dish during my two week stay in Italy. The wine is good too and one can buy a glass of very good red for Eur8. A 2 course lunch for 4 including wine, water, covers etc came to Eur150 which is good value given the location of the restaurant and the superb quality of the food and wine.

Service is friendly and efficient and the waiting staff were happy to listen to our poor Italian and speak in English as and when required. There is free WiFi too!

Simple, fresh, and interesting - as others have said, tuscan with a contemporary take. I was staying in Siena for a week and ate there twice and could of eaten there every night. Nice wine list and great outside eating area on a quiet lane. Try the the open ravioli with burrata, simply amazing.

Great wait staff and a cute deck to sit and eat in a little lane way of Siena.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place!

Our family stayed in Siena for a week and chanced into Numero Unico our first night. Being from the Bay Area, we were delighted to find really freshly prepared foods and desserts. After a few more days of sampling the many other restaurants in Siena, we returned to this restaurant two more times to try the dishes we missed or to repeat our favorites. You can choose to dine inside or out, both are lovely.

Traditional tuscan with a contemporary twist, ristorante Numero Unico offers wonderful and creative menu options, and good wine list. I recommend the gnocchi with crumbled almond, although everything I have had here has been delicious!
