This place is super cozy and welcoming. There are big sofas and chairs to sit in and good music playing. My girlfriend and I skipped the tea and went for a spiced grappa concoction to share that was delicious and strong. We passed on dessert, but everything looked really good. The service is relaxed and super friendly. Would definitely recommend.

My Italian friends introduced me to this tea house and it was the best place to be when it was freezing outside. Tearoom was spacious with comfortable, retro-style decor, upon seating us the manager came over and gave us a vivid presentation of their teas and a list of 'today's cakes', and of course his personal recommendations. What he recommended did not disappoint - we came here again and again! Tea Room is a hidden gem that not many tourists know about, it is however little tricky to find but is definitely worth the effort.

As stated above, this charming place suits everyone from my boyfriend to tea connoisseurs, with an extensive range of beautiful teas and also other unexpected beverages such as Belgian blondes. Really friendly staff and a lot of tea for your money, great cake and a unique atmosphere and setting.

It's hard to express fully my love for the Tea Room. Everything about this place is perfect. Let's start with the space itself: an intimate 15th century cavern (with expertly constructed vaulted ceilings), perfectly lit, with antique (yet comfortable) furniture, a beautiful fireplace, a working grand piano, and well-chosen art. There always seems to be wonderful music playing in here, whether it's Louis Armstrong, U2, or some live musicians playing. It's the kind of space that is so perfectly done it feels almost surreal, like the platonic form of tea rooms. The drink selections are outstanding: if you love tea, you'll find any flavor you can imagine (100 or so total), all delivered in ornate, charming, and unique tea pots. They also have a full bar and outstanding homemade desserts. Lastly, you have the owner, Ilario: one of the kindest, gentlest, and most charming Italian men I've ever met. He loves and is proud of his Tea Room and does everything he can to make sure that you have a memorable evening and that you are taken care of.

One last thing: it's hard to find the Tea Room. My advice? Go to Papei (in the Piazza Mercato) and ask for directions to the Tea Room. It's less than 100 steps from Papei and they'll be happy to help.

Even if you're in Siena for only one night this is a must! This tea room has such a great atmosphere, tasty desserts, and a huge selection of teas--I can't recommend it enough. I'm not a big tea drinker but take my word for it, there's something for everyone. Take a few friends and just relax for a couple hours!

A couple pointers: even though it opens early in the evening none of the locals go before 9:30 so hold off otherwise you'll be there by yourselves. And if you go on Wednesday night there's usually live music around 10:30.
