Stayed two nights, found the room large for European standards and a bathroom well designed with hooks, shelves and all the normal things you want in a hotel bathroom but rarely find! Room clean and thank heavens for a mini bar stocked. Breakfast was very good, staff pleasant. Across the road a restaurant which stays open late. We were very stinky from riding all day and wished we could have laundered all our clothes but the laundry sheet said in by 9am (next morning for us) and back the following day at 4pm so you need to stay 3 nights really to get clothes washed. Would have used a same day service if available.other than that minor inconvenience I recommend this hotel for a basic, clean pleasant hotel.

Dear guest,

I'm happy that you ejoyed your stay at Hotel Minerva.
As far as the laundry service, they take 24 hour (it's an external service). The only other option is a laundry mat in the city centre.
I whish you will come back to visit us and our beautiful city in a next future.

We stayed in the Minerva for 3 nights in July. The hotel is located close to train station (7euros in a taxi) and about 10mins walk to the main piazza with lots of bars and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and our room was cleaned every day. Towels are changed on request. Our balcony had amazing view of siena. Room was quite small but was fine for what we paid. Breakfast had a big selection of fruit, cereal, pastries etc. would stay here again.

We stayed two nights at Hotel Minerva during Il Palio.
It was a last minute reservation and each night cost us Euro 140, including breakfast.
The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the train station and lies within the inner city wall.
Check-in was fast but they could have done without the bellboy (it is, after all, only a 3 star hotel).
The room and bathroom were large but not as clean and tidy as it should have been. I found numerous hairs (long/short) in the bathroom!
Was pleasantly surprised by the lovely breakfast. Many options - cereals, fresh bread, cheese/cold-cuts, fruits, juices, yoghurt, etc. Coffee was also superb.
The only annoying part was wifi. It was free but it was impossible to connect at all and any time unless you were close to the reception area.
It was our most expensive stay during a 10 day Italian trip and, considering some of the other places we stayed in were cleaner, had more stable wifi connection and cheaper, we would think twice in the future about staying here.

Dear guest,

thank you for your commentary. If you found the room not perfectly cleaned, you could tell us at the reception, we have a bellboy also to solve this problem.
As far as for the rate during the Palio is very high season so the rate are at maximum level in all the city.

Kind regard for Hotel Minerva

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We really did enjoy our stay. Friendly staff, cleaniness and with a very good view. It is very well located, 5 min walking to bus station and 10min to Piazza Il Campo. The breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly. The only problem we faced it was the no possibility to arrange a car or bike rental.

Dear Marsot,

many thanks for your commentary. We are glad to know that you ejoyed your stay in our hotel.
During high season (may-October) it can be very difficult to rent a bike or a car, because thera are only a few agencies.
We hope that you and your friends will come again to visit us in a next future.

Staff gentleman and always avaible. Room clear. Breakfast was good. Only PROBLEM: in july outside to hotel night and day is many loud.

We stayed at the Hotel Minerva for 4 nights. It is a very simple hotel, kept tidy and clean. However I will agree with some reviews it feels outdated something from the 70's, but even more bothersome to me is it was very sterile feeling, my husband joked it felt like a hospital. White walls and very little art or decor. Wifi was not great in our room but fine if you didn't mind going to the lobby. What made up for all of it was a terrace we had. Our original room we got the first night in the very bottom of the hotel, with no view, got changed the following day when we complained. My husband had booked this trip back in February and there was no excuse why we got this room. The management promptly changed our room and gave us two options. Of course we chose the room with a private terrace, which was the best feature. I did notice it must have been a premium room as not all had a deck, but many had the view. The breakfast had great croissants and a nice selection of a continental breakfast. We enjoyed the freshly made coffee and cappachinos every morning and the wait staff was very nice. It is within walking distance to the heart of Siena but is a busy road to walk up to get there. It was very helpful that my husband spoke Italian and got along well with the management staff, however, i can see how it would be a bit of a challenge if you did not, they helped us book a walking tour and wine tour, both of which were good. Overall I would only stay there again if I got the same room with a terrace.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view or with the terrace, however I think there are only a few. That's wh...

Dear Christy,

thank you for your comment. I'm happy you enjoyed our beautiful terrace from where you can have a gorgeos view of Siena.
As far as for the look of the rooms, I'd like to remind you and we are a 3 stars hotel and also from the photos on our website is quite clear the aspect of the rooms. Many guests prefer not to have vary coloured walls or too many pictures on it, so we decided to have basic colours and only a few picture on the walls.
I hope that this aspect will not prevent you to come again to visit us in your future.
Kind regards from Hotel Minerva's staff.

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. Conveniently located a short walk from the old city and the train station. We had a large room with a good sized bathroom. Bonus was the balcony covered with sweet smelling jasmine overlooking the old city. Windows opened at night, traffic noise not an issue. Truly awesome. A very good breakfast, staff at reception were helpful. Free wifi, coverage not great but adequate. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Superior room with balcony is worth the extra charge
