We were not expecting the food to be good at this restaurant, having found that in Italy, the closer you are to the beautiful views, the worse the food is. Also, restaurants luring in the tourists tended to be sub par. However, this was not the case here! The food was simple, delicious, and not super expensive! We all had very hearty "peasant" food and none of it disappointed. Although it was a hot evening in August, I had the bread soup and it was just delicious! Full of veggies and chunks of bread. One of our companions had a bowl of white beans in a tomato sauce that I'm still having plate envy about. I wish I had the recipe. The views of the campo were stunning and overall, we could not have asked for a better place to spend our last night in Siena. Go for the house wine-as always in Italy! We never had expensive wine and we never had bad wine!
