We did this as a famiy with our teenagers. Travelling with teens can be challenging. This got them going! "Enough history & culture, let's go spread thermal clay all over mom & dad and then relax in thermal pools with jets and take vapor showers of essential oils!" Very relaxing, the people who work there are very nice too! If you're in the area, don't hesitate. It's well worth the 38 euro entry which gives you 3 hours in the facility (and we're normally careful with our money).

Very relaxing Spa town,An ideal base point to explore Italy Tuscan attractions. The walking in Terme di Chianciano was pleasant & relaxing although the slopes would be inconvenient for wheelchair users. The main attraction was the Wednesday market where there were lots of stalls attended by local & holiday trade. It is a Spa town renowned for its healthy water and the town had a large Spa-centre.There were also some nice boutiques, café's and restaurants.
We certainly enjoyed the week in Tuscany staying at Chianciano.

Felt more like a modern town, pleasant but different for a change, a modern renovated central piazza with all the hotels and spas surrounding, the tourists and the locals mingled and the nights can be long. When I was there, a special dancing floor, free for all who wants to loosen their joints after spas was put up in the central piazza, playing contemporary musics, as Linoel Ritchie portly put it 'All Night Long'

Dreaming of Tuscany .... well try to go to the southern part - where the ETRUSCANs lived many years ago. In the town of CHIANCIANO you will find it all .. the new part of the city with a lot of hotels, shops, restaurants and the spa center. And then on the old hill top like it has been for hundreds and hundreds of years - the OLD Chianciano - Chianciano Vecchia! Here you will feel like "a true Italian" - not many tourists and still several cafe's, a couple of good restaurants and lots of original charm! The surrounding hilltop villages are charming and more known - therefore also a LOT of tourists. But in Chianciano you are still able to find the true oldfashioned feeling of a Tuscan hilltop village.

We were looking for a relaxing break during our travels so we went to the Sensoriali spa for half a day. The language barrier is big here if you do not speak Italian. The shower and changing room areas were very minimal (four private showers in a coed area apart from changing rooms) and of insufficient size for the business on a Saturday. They do not provide any soaps or shampoos--so washing up after a massage was challenging. The aqua therapy pools were small and the water jets were too few, too weak and seemed to turn on randomly or not at all. All of the other therapy areas (cold showers, mud bath, aromatherapy) were not impressive. We have had much better spa experiences in the USA, Bermuda, Cancun, and Canada.
