“Good views from the Frontone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

Duccio, Jacopo della Quercia, Pisani to name a few contribute to the high quality of the site. The frontone has the best views in Siena and the climb is worth every step. The general price for the OPA ticket is the main problem but not a stumbling block.

“museum near Cathedral”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

This had more personal art. Great statues and more paintings of the early Renaissance. It also had a great gift shop.

“the undergound floors are worth the entrance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012

still recently this was used as general hospital, as it was from the foundation 1000 years ago. The monumental entrance with frescoes depicting the life of the insitution and the underground floors with Etruscan collections (as well as an idea of the city below the streets) are worth the entrance; much less crowded than the Duomo, and a refreshing stop in the summer heat.

“Worth the trek”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

One thing would have been nice to have been told in advance is that the opening hours are (peak season) from 13.30 onwards. We bought a ticket as part of the Duomo / Arch / Museum / Bassillica / Crypt set - and these are good for three days (one vist per site)...

Still, the place is pleasant enough. Lots of OK - ish art (nothing compared to what remains in the Duomo) and a very nice restful cloister next door - good cool venue for piucnic lunch.

“Climb the spiral stairs for breathtaking view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2012

We personally weren't to intruiged by the museo itself, but it was well worth the entry fee to climb up two very narrow, spiral stairs to get an incredible view of the cathederal, city and countryside!
