“Elegant”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

I remember coming here as a kid for a school trip, and then coming back recently and being overcome by the beauty of the place! Spacious, with magnificent and elegant buildings around it... One of the most beautiful squares in the world.

“One of Europe's greatest medieval squares”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

This shell-shaped town square is the major landmark of Siena, where you can find the Palazzo Pubblico (the town hall) and the Torre del Mangia. It also contains the Fonte Gaia (“Fountain of Joy”), built in 1419 to replace an earlier fountain. It would be advisable to visit in the early morning while the sunlight is still soft and there isn't a huge crowd milling about -- the square just looks and feels so peaceful. The tourist information office can also be found in the square, beside the town hall. There are restaurants rimming the square.

“Breath taking!”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

The Piazza del Campo is one of the most famous Piazza in Italia! The famous Palio is run here twice a year. Surrounded by small shops, restaurants and bars, this is the perfect place to have a nice meal, people watch with a slice of pizza or a gelato, or shop. It is a bit exensive because it's the busiest part of the city, but it's a great place!

“nice place”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

The Piazza is nice but I have seen a lot better. There are lots of restaurants and street vendors. The buildings are the color of siena. didnt spend too much time here. Had lunch took some pictures, bought a few trinkets and left. One should check it out if you are in siena. I found more interesting things on my way to the Piazza so it is nice to walk around outside on the back streets.
