We took an evening cooking class with Lella in October 2012. It was approximately 5 hours which just flew by. This was a perfect time to do the lesson, we could explore the town centre of Siena through the day and then just easily walk to Lella's kitchen in the evening cook and then enjoy a leisurely dinner.
My husband and I joined a lovely group of 5 Americans for our lesson. This was a private tour group and their guide kindly took loads of photos with our camera to capture each process of the many dishes we prepared so we could just enjoy the hands on cooking experience.
Lella was totally hands on with showing us the preparation of many dishes, pasta making, pasta sauce, tuscan soup, potato souffles, beef casserole and almond biscuits. Lella's English was good but she also had an interpreter there called Erica she was very informative not only on the cooking but with information on Siena itself. Lella also has a kitchen hand working quietly in the background making our cooking time an easier and more enjoyable experience.
After all our had work it was time to sit down and enjoy the meal. We were give wine to accompany the meal (which was also served throughout the preparation stage) and the meals were plated and presented to us like real restaurant meals.
Lella's kitchen is immaculate and so conveniently located in the centre of Siena just a short walk from the main square. Lella even ordered us a taxi at the end of the night.
