Like others we stumbled upon this restaurant because it is a bit out of the way from the grand Piazza. Although there is a nice outdoor area to dine, there is nothing to look at. The adjacent square is very ordinary i.e. there is nothing to look at other than a structure that looks like a bus shelter (and I think that's what it is). Inside the restaurant is very cosy and rustic.
The food was great. It was so good we went back the following evening. The best dish on the menu would have to be the mushroom bruschette it was served at a great temperature and it was fabulous - I had it both nights because it was so good! Other highlights were the pasta dishes and the grilled fish from the "specials" that was also very tasty.
The only complaint about this place (and many others in the area) is the notion that it is OK to put a basket of bread in front of people when they don't want it and then charge them for it even if they don't eat it. This tactic is frsutrating because I think that it deters diners from leaving a tip. It would be great if one could decide if they wanted a basket of bread or not.
All things considered this is a great place to eat if you want to get a way from the crowds around the Piazza and eat at a family run restaurant that has good food and good service!
