We live in Siena and have eaten at this restaurant and gotten take-out from the lunch counter many times. It is a family owned restaurant with consistently good food. We love their patio seating, and great location. There is a good mix of tourists and locals, speaking many different languages, but mostly Italian and English. It is very busy during the season, so you may have to wait a little while for a table, but it is worth it. The food is typical Tuscan cuisine with antipasto, first plates, second plates, etc. on the menu but what we really like is that every afternoon/evening, they have a chalk board on the wall with the specials. We always order from the board, which is prepared that afternoon, so it is always fresh. The Pici chinghali is really good, as are the fresh meats they cook. Our favorite waiter is Besneek (sp) who always has a smile on his face and is very patient with English speakers who try to speak Italian, but speaks very good English, as well. Sadly, he doesn't work in the off season, when they are only opened for lunch. The cost is good for the location inside the city, where many restaurants are fairly expensive. We would recommend this restaurant for both eat-in and take out. It is consistently very good!
