“Great neighborhood restaurant”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We live in Siena and have eaten at this restaurant and gotten take-out from the lunch counter many times. It is a family owned restaurant with consistently good food. We love their patio seating, and great location. There is a good mix of tourists and locals, speaking many different languages, but mostly Italian and English. It is very busy during the season, so you may have to wait a little while for a table, but it is worth it. The food is typical Tuscan cuisine with antipasto, first plates, second plates, etc. on the menu but what we really like is that every afternoon/evening, they have a chalk board on the wall with the specials. We always order from the board, which is prepared that afternoon, so it is always fresh. The Pici chinghali is really good, as are the fresh meats they cook. Our favorite waiter is Besneek (sp) who always has a smile on his face and is very patient with English speakers who try to speak Italian, but speaks very good English, as well. Sadly, he doesn't work in the off season, when they are only opened for lunch. The cost is good for the location inside the city, where many restaurants are fairly expensive. We would recommend this restaurant for both eat-in and take out. It is consistently very good!

“Nice location - bad meals”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

We visited this restaurant on a September evening, when it was still warm outside. The restaurant has a nice terace in the center of Siena. Also lots of guests where already sitting there.
The prices are on the rather lower side. So much on the good things to report.

Our meals (sea food salat, sea food spaghetti and scallopina milanese) were mediocre to poor in quality. This restaurant appears to be a "classic tourist trap".

Stay away.

“Horrible”
Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

We had two pasta dishes and somehow they were ready in 2 minutes. I'm from Canada and this is the worst pasta I've ever had. I had to struggle to take every bite down. I think I gave up after eating a quarter of it. The waiter (owner?) seemed quite bitter too.

“don't waste your money”
Reviewed September 5, 2011

The rolls were hard as a rock. My spaghetti tasted like it was from a can. My friends pasta dish tasted like it had a glob of sour cream plopped on top of it for the cream sauce. The waiter was not very friendly either. What a disappointment. I thought the food was supposed to be delicious in Italy.
