The Hostaria Il Rialto is a hidden gem of Siena. Not only is it off the main pathway, it is on an alleyway off the secondary pathway. As soon as you walk into this cozy and quaint Hostaria you recognize that it is a family business and you are treated like family. Marina takes pride in all the food she prepares and it is delicious! We begged her to share her preparation secrets for her marinated octopus so we could take it back with us to Korea and teach the Koreans how to make octopus that isn't rubbery. The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and can offer great suggestions for both the food and wine.
We had balsamic marinated octopus, baked flounder, grilled vegetables, and a wonderful chianti. For dessert we had Marina's home maid tiramisu that melted in our mouth...
