Owner description: Wine Tour in Tuscany is owned and operated by Donatella, a young woman who was born and raised in the area. Sharing her authentic perspectives on the unknown corners of wonderful Tuscany, including those of a formally trained sommelier offers her clients a unique experience. The Tuscan landscape, its wine and food make the area one of the most famous in the world. Donatella is a polite, friendly, enthusiastic guide who speaks French and English with ease. She is fully licensed, insured and in compliance with all Italian regulations.

Donatella was a wonderful guide into the world of Tuscan wine and food. She is an ambassador for Tuscany! She delivers exactly what you are looking for, not just great wine, but great memories. I can still taste the cheeses, the homemade pastas, and delicious Brunellos. She is unabashedly Tuscan (which we appreciated), but has a charm and wit that is inviting to even the most "American" of tourists. Donatella delivers as close to a down-home Italian country farm and winery experience as can be done in a day trip. You benefit from her obviously genuine relationships with the people of the region and they open their homes and businesses to you as if you are long lost friends, not some strange tour group. It is unrushed, yet filled with multiple experiences. The trip is encompassing of the region, yet finely tuned enough to allow you to focus on specific elements (whether it be the cheeses, the wines, the history, or the beautiful landscape). The best advice that can be given is to clear your day and take a tour with Donatella. She won't disappoint. We visited in May, which seemed to be the PERFECT time to visit. It was beautiful weather - warm but not hot (which it apparently gets VERY hot in this area in the middle of summer). The whole countryside was still GREEN and every vinyard and farm visited was in the middle of all its splendor.

(We actually visited in May 2012, but TA wouldn't let me go back that far.)

My daughter and I recently joined Donatella for a Brunello wine tour, a perfect choice!! She knows the area, the wine, and has a lovely sense of humor. The authentic lunch we had was meraviglioso! Donatella provides a top notch experience, I would highly recommend her to anyone.

We visited three vineyards and were taken for an excellent lunch. Each place was so different and the hosts all incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour, it may feel like quite a lot of money but worth every cent. Certainly not a standard `tour` and all the better for exactly that reason.

The best part of this tour is Donatella herself. She is very knowledgeable about wine in general, but even more so about Chianti. And passionate about them as well. She is also very engaging with all the people on the tour, and has a great sense of fun. If you enjoy wine, and good food, you can't go wrong on this tour. We did not think the tour was expensive given the quality of the experience, including off the main tourist track wineries, and very special lunch with a local family in a beautiful country home.

My husband and I spent eleven days in Italy with three being in Florence. We had booked this one day tour with Donatella several months ago. Donatella is from Siena, therefore, totally knowledgable about the surrounding areas. She is a wonderful guide and brought everything we saw to life. The wineries, along with their owners, couldn't have been nicer and each tour was extremely informative. Donatella mixes it up with various sized wineries along with some olive oil production. She surprised us with a special lunch that we can't stop talking about! Donatella is a gem...don't miss this tour!
