“Truly Memorable!”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

At Il Campo, to the left of the tower, just down a little alley on Via Salicotto on your left, is a WONDERFUL little restaurant where you'll be served a truly memorable meal. No menu, say English please, and the waiter will give you some choices. We began with a bottle of chianti, then hubby had a huge bowl of tortellini while I ate delicious ravioli in a meaty sauce/gravy - both dishes divine. Then our choice of chicken, pork, beef, or lamb (the lamb fell off the bone and we couldn't help oohing and aching, it was that good.). We had a big plate of perfectly cooked fresh, really fresh, asparagus with olive oil and lemon (sooooo good.). We opted for the just picked strawberries, delicious, for dessert. Every dish looked camera ready and far exceeded our expectations. A great dining experience for 65 euros!

“A real local haunt”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

This recommendation was so well appreciated as we dined here last night, no menu "I am the menu" he said to a couple next to us! From fresh pasta with tasty sugo, to meat that needed no cutting and the fresh vegetables cooked 'mamma' style. Everything was delicious and at a very reasonable price. The owner speaks a little English if you struggle to understand 'the menu' in Italian, but perhaps instead, just ask him to serve you his specialties. We were not disappointed.

“astonishingly good home-made pasta and pomodoro sauce”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

probably the best pasta we had in italy - amazing spaghetti with pomodoro sauce - so simple and so tasty, delicious asparagus with lemon and very creamy tiramisu.

there is no menu indoors, the chef is the menu. you can see the kitchen and how your dish is made, the portions are very generous and it is impossible to stress enough how simplicity is here turned into a gourmet experience from toscana cuisine. it feels like italian mama made the dish.

the owner is very attentive and rightly proud of his food, so you get this feeling of really eating at home, where you dont need a menu, just empty stomach. it was unforgettable experience.

“Back, after several years”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

I lived in italy - study abroad for a while and would always eat here when visiting Siena. 5 years later, I went back to Italy with family for a wedding and this was the only place that I knew we all had to go back to. The food is amazing, the atmosphere could not be better, and it really feels like a locals spot, with very few tourists. The owner does not speak english and there is not really a menu, so learn basic italian food vocabulary before you go, but it is so worth it. Can't wait to go back in another 5 years.

“Homemade Tuscan Cooking! Best Meal of Our Trip!”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

The owner of our B&B in Rome recommended this restaurant and we also found it on Tripadvisor. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside (or on in the inside), but the meal we had was AMAZING and was the best meal of our entire trip.

It is a family restaurant and the owner (the father) is there to oversee everything. There aren't any menus and as we sat down, our server came over and said, "do you want meat?" in Italian. We said yes and agreed on lamb. Our first course was homemade minestrone soup - the BEST soup I've ever had. For our entree, we had leg of lamb and spinach. It sounds very simple, but both dishes were cooked to perfection & were so fresh. The restaurant is small, so you can see them preparing the food in plan sight. It almost felt as though we were simply at a friend's house for dinner.

We spent 55 euro for a soup, an entree, and tiramisu for 2 people and it was worth every penny. This restaurant is a hidden gem! If you want frills and ambiance, this is not the place for you. However, if you simply want a good and authentic Tuscan meal from a "mom and pop" restaurant, then go to La Torre! You won't be disappointed.
