“One of a kind.”

One of the best restaurants I've been to in Italy, let alone all the other countries I've visited. Service is impeccable, food and quality is extraordinary. Wine list is very extensive (500+). Any truffle plate is highly reccomended as well as the tiramisu. Reservations are highly recommended as well. 10/10

“Great Tuscan cuisine and amazingly friendly staff!”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Away from the crowded touristic streets, this little entrance opens up to a great place to eat. The food was amazing, and the service made it even more special. Traditional Taverna decor, hiding an amazing selection of wine. It is easy to taste and see that they love what they do. Friendly and professional service... Felt we were part of the family. Returned there twice during our vacation and felt the same way both times. Loved the mini complementary creme brulee at the end of our lunch.

“At Home in Siena”
Reviewed December 26, 2012 via mobile

In this extraordinary city, rich with medieval treasures and a worthy pride in its history and monuments it will always be important to find the right table to enjoy the always interesting and satisfying Sienese fare. On this visit, we were fortunate enough to return to one of the best - La Taverna di San Giuseppe, located within a few hundred meters of the Campo on Via G. Dupre. A classic ristorante and enoteca which is always welcoming from the moment you arrive until you leave some time later having enjoyed a fine meal in a familiar Sienese dining room. The food is spectacular, the wine list extensive with a concentration on very good selections from the surrounding countryside. Perhaps best of all is the staff who always treat you as a memorable guest while keeping you informed of every part of the menu and the vast collection of wine in the cave below.
Make this stop and reserve ahead - you will not regret it.

“Indulge yourselves”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

Tony from Hotel Duomo in Siena introduced this restaurant to my family and I. On the foggy night that we set out from the hotel, the restaurant stood out like a beacon on the dark street. Inside, it was warm, cheery, and full of people. At one table was a small group celebrating the birthday of 1 of their members and for this, the staff staged a mini procession bearing a "birthday cake" for the occasion, with music thrown in. The food was excellent and the Chianti wine introduced by our waiter will wow Bordeaux lovers (like it did my husband). We send our compliments to the chef (and understand from the food reviews pasted at the restaurant entrance that he is of Michelin-star stock). This was certainly a highlight of our 1-night stay in Siena.

“Great Food, Great Staff definitely going back”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

We stopped in for our first meal in Italy and it set the bar high for the rest of the trip. A great menu with dishes from the rustic and classic to much more complicated. Service was great, very helpful waiter who helped us with our weak Italian. They made us feel so welcome, we cant wait to go back on our next trip.
