I really loved this place as I'm a country kind of woman. It's a short, maybe 5 minutes or so, to San Gimignano sitting high on a hill opposite. This B & B sits up on a high will a panoramic view of the countryside and the city at night when the lights are on. Magical for sure. The room were very large with lovely amenties plus a swimming pool, acres of olive trees and vineyards all around. A secure parking area with gate. Great breakfast and it allows a lot of relaxation. Do go, you won't regret it!

Hotel has excellent views over San Gimignano, but you need a car and to pay for parking if you want to actually go within the wall. Hotel's best rooms are in the upper floor, rooms 6 and 7 (we stayed at Nr.7). Ground floor rooms more suitable for families with children (pool and playground just outside). Hotel very clean, nice rooms, adequate breakfast, very helpful staff.
We stayed for 1 week with great sunny days and explored Tuscany (if it rains you can't do much) . San Gimignano is great, easy to walk, great food at Le Vecchie Mura, climb up the big skyliner for great views. Favorite town of our trip was Lucca (1,5 hours away though) combining nature, middleage architecture and art and shopping-nightlife. Florence,Pisa and Siena are nice but too crowdy, prefer afternoons. Arezzo, Cortona and Volterra (which is also very close) are beatiful for spending your days (although from 14-17 at noon the cities "rest"). Chianti roads are great to drive, villages are OK (Greve, Castellina and Radda). Pienza and Pistoia are nice for 2-3 hours. Prato is nothing special.

This beautifully renovated farmhouse in Tuscany is located just minutes away from San Gimignano for dining and shopping. Our room was extremely clean and cozy with a magnificent view of their olive groves and lofty towers of the hilltop town. Each morning the Hostess would arrive with an array of delicious fresh- baked pastries from their bakery located in San Gimignano. She and her husband were gracious and friendly hosts. This B&B far exceeded our expectations. Texas

We cannot recommend this place enough. Restrained service and very relaxing environment.
Excellent proximity and far enough form the village to escape the hoards form the buses!!!
Fantastic location - and the view! Weather was absolutely perfect and the Trattoria down the drive is highly recommended - especially the wild roast pork! Exceptional value, great wholesome local food, and so handy.
We were in the village for the Harvest festival and what a visual feast. Recommend this to any traveller to the region. A much better village than Moltepuciano etc.
Excellent shopping in the village and easy to get around.

Had I died and gone to heaven! Our first visit to Italy and Tuscany. What great choices we made as far as location, accomodation type and style, restaurants and activities (thanks to the use of Trip Advisor)!
We had the room with the best view (no 6) of the walled city of San Gimignano and the Tuscan countryside in general. Very well appointed clean and spacious room/bathroom. Airconditioning worked well (the only place in Italy where it did).
The pool was a peaceful place to retreat to at 4pm each afternoon after touring the walled city and countryside in the hire car. Very nice wine glasses provided to assist us to enjoy our Chianti purchases on the terrace overlooking San Gimi were a nice touch when we were found drinking from the plastic cups from our room. Wines, water and beers for purchase from reception/breakfast room was very convenient when we were less organised.
All staff here where ready willing and able to help with any requests. Thanks guys for your assistance with finding my husband a physio nearby and playing interpreter with his symptoms and appointment-making. We had a fabulous stay - thankyou.
Breakfast? Plenty of variety as long as you travel with a view to enjoying different things. I had OJ, yoghurt and a big fat doughnut (not something I would ever have at home!). If you don't like sharing a table with complete strangers then take your breakfast out onto the terrace and enjoy the climate and the magnificent views.
A car is necessary when staying here but if you don't want to go too far try the Trattoria within walking distance called "Borgo di Racciano" for traditional Tuscan fare (light lunch, dinner or just a drink).

To me this home was exactly what I imagined tuscany to be. A beautiful house, set on a quiet road, with an amazing view of the countryside and of San Gimignano in the distance. We stayed here for 2 days, but could have stayed a week. The home was beautiful, the room was nice and clean, and the pool was a perfect break from the hot tuscan sun. Note that some of the rooms do have steps in them though if that's an issue for you. Ours was #7 and has a beautiful view of the town out the window....I would definitely stay in this room again. Breakfast was good too...nice selection of breakfast sandwiches and pastries. They also had a nice outside sitting area that looked out on the town. Both nights we sat out with a bottle of wine enjoying the night air and the view. All the rest of the people at the B&B were also out there one night...was a fun time having a few drinks and meeting everyone! We actually never ended up walking into the town...although I know you could do it. By this point in our trip we were trying to conserve our walking...so many Tuscan hills, so little time! Definitely go to this place if you can...you will not regret it.
As far as restaurants go, we ate at Bel Soggiorno in town one night - great view out some big windows onto the hillside. Make a reservation if you want a table right next to the window...we didn't have one though, but we had a table set back which was fine. Also we would have eaten at Le Vecchie Mura if possible, but you definitely needed a reservation here - make one if you can. This place has a great setting and was busy busy. Completely full. Have fun!!

A great B&B, panoramic view of San Gimignano from the relaxing pool area. Friendly and helpful. Staff . The pool cleaned every day , The room was spotless , The breakfast was great , fresh fruit ,various cakes and bread freshly filled. San Gimignano wines are sold on site , try a lovely white from the chiller or a great red, Also stock chilled beer and water. There is a large restaurant a short walk from the car park of Podere Sant'Elena or walk or drive into San Gimignano ,
