Very helpful and pleasant staff. Lovely apartment we stayed in a 1 minute walk from hotel. Excellent value. Nice decor, clean and smart hotel. Breakfast was good and they happy to do separate scrambled eggs without the obligatory ham in it. Dinner in the restaurant was variable as I should have stuck to having lamb back in NZ and stayed with pizza and pasta though the pizza unfortunately had seen too much of the oven and they accepted it back. My gnocchi was great as was the tagliatelle which seemed the pasta that was home made. But prices very reaonable.
Overall though a really pleasant place to stay and great base for San Gimignano and the surrounding vineyards and towns, plus Firenze, Siena and Pisa.

Room Tip: Had large apartment 1minute walk from hotel. Umbrellas supplied if raining. Really excellent size an...

We stayed for four nights last week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the hotel to be clean with good size rooms. The grounds were lovely and the staff was very helpful. When we asked about a good restaurant they recommended Le Vecchie Mura, They were kind enough to book a reservation for us. The dinner and ambience were absolutely superb. Breakfast was nicely provided with eggs, a variety of meats and cheese along with cereal, cappuccino, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to tour this part of Tuscany.

This was our first time in Italy. We stayed at the hotel for a week in September and would recommend it to all. Helpfull staff, good rooms and excellent restaurant. The pool was great and we could sit in the sun on the days when we didn't go out all day. It was a bit far out of San Gimingnano and the road was full of hairpin bends. After a tiring day sightseeing, it would have been nice to walk there

Dear Sirs,

we would like to really thank you for taking the time to post your review and for having chosen our Hotel for your fist stay in Italy.
We are pleased to know you spent a lovely holiday here.Yet, we are sorry that you didn't appreciate the location.
Actually, our guests enjoy very much to relax and lay in the sun in our big green area, far away from the noise of the town.

Kindest Regards,

Fam. Niccolini & Staff

We are a family of four (two boys aged 10 and 6) and we stayed with a couple who had a separate garden room. We had interconnecting terrace rooms. We flew in to Pisa where we hired a car and drove to the hotel. It was very easy to find on the GPS.
Service - staff are very helpful. It was my husband's surprise birthday and they kept the secret well, provided a bottle of wine to the room to wish him a happy birthday, and advised me very wisely on a restaurant booking in San Gimignano that turned out to be spectacular. Their English is very good and they were so lovely as to leave us with gifts as we left as well. We really felt special and welcome.
Amenities - by European standards, the hotel is fine. It's not fancy in the rooms. They are basic but this is all part of European hospitality. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. That's good enough for us. The pool was lovely but cold! The grounds were perfect for kids as we could sit on the terrace and drink our coffee/prosecco and watch the children playing foos ball, table tennis and football as there are acres of flat grassed land.
Breakfast - was lovely, again by European standards. The coffee is good!
Restaurant - this is the only thing we weren't happy with. The food was not up to standard of other places where we ate and considering this is Tuscany, we were surprised. It wasn't horrible but wasn't as delicious as the restaurants in San Gimignano.
Internet - there is Wifi but it's a weak signal and there's a weird ticket system that you need to use it, rather than just a password...........this is typical of Europe as well but would be one thing they could do to improve.
Overall a brilliant stay and we would go back there if we return to Tuscany. Thank you :)

Room Tip: If you have children, it's worth asking for the interconnecting rooms. And ask to look out over...

Dear Sirs,

we thank you very much for your nice review and all the compliments you send us.
It was a pleasure to organize your husband's special birthday, our guests are all
special persons to us, and we always try to meet their requirements.
We are glad you liked the rooms, common areas, outfittings and pool.
We regret to learn you didn't like the food in the restaurant at dinner, maybe it was just
a matter of taste. Regarding Internet, every year our provider is improving the service by one
further step. Internet in the countryside is still a big deal.
All the best to you The Niccolinis & Staff

This was the most disappointing hotel during our recent trip to Italy. It looked so inviting when we were looking in the area for somewhere to stay. Our room was very average, but very clean. Once inside, It had the feel of a motel rather than a hotel about it. The dining room was large and incredibly noisy. It definitely felt like a dining room rather than a restaurant; but the food was good. This sounds like a negative review, it just probably isn't the place to stay if you're a couple wanting to get away from it all. Great for families though, expansive grounds and a large pool; it would be perfect for a group or a family.

Dear Sirs,

thank you very much for your review.
We are pleased you appreciated the room cleaniness, the good food and the lovely, huge
park with swimming-pool.
The negative aspects you pointed out were mainly related to the room type and the lack
of quiet.
As far as the first aspect concerns, the hotel has 55 rooms diveded into 7 different types.
You booked the basic room, a standard type. These rooms are characterized by a simple
style and are not so big, but all of them are comfortable and very clean.
Our Deluxe rooms, for example, are big and richly furnished, with a great view over the park
and swimming-pool.
Regarding the second aspect, unfortunately you happened to stay with us in the same time
of a group (two nights), that's why you found the place a little bit noisy. We usually don't host
groups, only selected guests sent by our customery agencies and only two-three times per year. They all know that we want to keep the resort as quite as possible.
We hope you will decide to come back to our hotel another time in the future to better
evaluate our place and services. Best regards The Niccolinis & Staff

Me and my girlfriend have been in Hotel Casolare Le Terre Rosse for 3 nights. This was a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and the service was excellent. The location of the hotel is problematic. Although the hotel is very close to San Gimigano, the road to the hotel in the night is very dark and drive is very though and not pleasant.

Dear Sirs,

we thank you very much for your nice review and are pleased you had a nice stay with us.
The hotel lies in the countryside, in an area of outstanding beauty, in the middle of an huge park with swimming-pool, a paradise sorrounded by olive trees and woods.
In the countryside it is difficult to find lamps along the roads, like in the cities, but we lie
along the main road, so it is not difficult to find us. Besides, since we are a big structure,
with several buildings, there are lights everywhere to ease guests their approaching.

Easy location from San Gimignano. Spacious grounds, wonderful pool area, but the weather was cool and the pool is not heated (disappointment), so we didn't use. There are many 'quiet' corners in the lobby, eating area, patios and garden/grounds to relax, read, and take in the beautiful scenery. The breakfast was excellent with hot eggs, sausage, occasional fresh fruit, all which we never found anywhere else. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. And of course, Felix, the cat, was by the door to greet everyone.
