“Yet another wonderful stay at le Terre Rosse”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Grazie mille to the Niccolini family and staff.

This was our fifth stay at Le Terre Rosse and our week lived up to the standard we have come to expect. We stayed once again in the lovely Quercia apartment. The weather was perfect, the apartment beautifully clean, the staff helpful. The ambience pure Tuscany! Our thanks especially to our waiter and waitress and to Viviana. We will return. Ciao.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the main hotel rooms and in the apartments. Both good. Apartments are ideal if y...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay ..ideal centre for Siena and the Chianti wine route and very close to stunning San Gimignano .Lovely gardens and pool ....plenty of room for children to play and adults to enjoy peace and quiet.Helpful staff and very reasonably priced good food both in cafe and restaurant...the wine was reasonable too!!! Only downside ..our room was small and everywhere could have done with a repaint ...but it was rustically charming and very clean.I would recommend to couples and families as a lovely family run hotel in a stunning location. You do need a car and a good driver as the roads are very bendy!!!!

Travelled as a family of 4 with 2 youngsters, 21 and 19. The quadruple room suited us very well, with 2 x rooms separated by a staircase and door.
Beautiful position and grounds, very helpful reception staff, great restaurant and waiter, very nice clean pool . Not noisy at all.
Hotel runs a shuttle bus into San Gimignano, sadly out of action during our stay. Would be very useful as parking areas in the centre are busy.
Would happily return again, for a longer stay in the area.

I would never usually write a trip advisor review simply because I never have time to do so. However on this occasion it was important to do so. The location and the surroundings of this hotel are excellent. The hotel is a little isolated from the nearby san gimignano but you are rewarded with fantastic views and peace and quiet except perhaps for the occasional cricket. There is a medium sized swimming pool which appears never to be crowded. I would say to would be users of the hotel it maybe worth while thinking about hiring a car simply because the town is a couple of miles away along windy roads. You would be well placed in the centre of Tuscany to visit nearby towns and historic sites but a car is a a must really.
Perhaps the jewel in the crown of this hotel is the staff. My partner and I have never felt so welcomed to a hotel before. The staff are all bilingual and have no problem understanding what your asking. They have expert knowledge of the local area such as wine tasting tours or the best restaurants to visit. They will always greet you with a smile and will endeavour to make your stay a good one.
The food at the restaurant is very good and having a meal in the courtyard on a warm summer evening is delightful. My only minor criticism is the breakfast but I feel this is a result of my acquired English taste. The breakfast is varied including cereal and cold meats but seems to focus on sweet cakes, pastries and croissants which is not something I am accustomed too. Despite this the hotel is one of the finest I have stayed in and I wouldn't hesitate to go back there. If your going there enjoy it.

Room Tip: It doesn't really matter about the location of the room as you will have a good nights sleep whe...

Dear Sirs,

we thank you very much for the time you have taken to write the review about our place.
We are so pleased you enjoyed everything, so that your stay at Le Terre Rosse was a
memorable one.
It is our pleasure to be helpful and kind towards our guests, who all deserve a special
treatment for having chosen and appreciated our resort.
We will do our best to modify breakfast to "Northen European taste", Italian custom is
to have sweets for breafast (which is rather boring, I agree).
We hope that many nice persons like you will visit us and of course, that we will be able
to welcome you back next year! Warmest greetings from the Niccolinis & Staff

If you want to see Tuscany the Terre Rosse is the perfect location to use as your centre to drive to Florence, Pisa, Siena, Livorno and of course San Gimignano (the highlight of our trip).

Make sure you book the cooking course at Casanova di Pescille at the reception and head across the road to the Fattoria San Donato for a tour of their wine cellar with lunch.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a terrace, it's worth the extra charge!

This was our second trip to this hotel and it is still as wonderful as ever. The have kept the same wonderful staff and exceptionally high standards in the hotel.
The breakfast buffet has a huge choice available. the dinner and lunch menus are also varied and mouth-watering and all at the most amazing price, served by wonderful friendly staff.

the grounds are beautiful and the pool is huge with plenty of beds. the cleaning staff are just the best and so friendly.

I could not recommend this hotel enough and we will be returning again and again and again
