“A Little Taste of Paradise”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

When we were planning our trip to Italy, I was searching for an accommodation in the Tuscany area and tripped upon Hotel Pescille. It looked beautiful and when we arrived there on July 17th for a 4 night stay, it did not disappoint. First of all, the location is idyllic. It is high up on a crest overlooking lush greenery and of course their own vineyards, very recessed from the road, but minutes from the medieval town of San Gimignano. It is quaint, but has all the modern conveniences. The rooms are whitewashed, clean, functional and quiet. The panorama from our room, but I understand the same applies to others, is breathtaking. The grounds include a covered outside terrace restaurant, a grassy area with lounge chairs which is somewhat more private, and an inviting pool with plenty of shade as well as sun, teeming with deck chairs. We could have stayed there even longer and would go back in a heartbeat.Everyone was very helpful and gracious and we would highly recommend this to fellow travellers.

We have visited the Pescille three times now, and cannot think of a more perfect place to stay in Tuscany!
The charm, the views, the staff, the food are all the stuff that great memories are made of!
The Pescille is the quintessence of tranquility, following several days of trekking the hill towns.
We love to come "home" to the roaring fire on the patio, great food, great wine and a completely serene environment.
We are already planning our fourth stay, using the Pescille as our home base! Caio!

Frayed from our long flight and drive we reached Hotel Pescille to be greeted by the most accommodating staff one could ask for. Our room was spacious with a view of San Gimignano and the Tuscan countryside that could have been a painting. After a long day of sight seeing from it's central location retuning to Hotel Pescille always felt like coming home. We would step out onto our balcony and just marvel at the view. It was a beautifully landscaped villa with wonderful nooks and crannies everywhere. The pool was very well maintained and clean. The breakfast was always well stocked and you could get a freshly made cappuccino if you wanted. The dinner menu wasn't very imaginative but the food it offered was good and the service was warm and once again exceptionally accommodating. We stayed there for 5 days and were sad to leave for our next stop.

Room Tip: Try to get a room upstairs overlooking San Gimignano.

This is a very curious hotel as the outside of the hotel is unbelievably beautiful (see photos) - the inside public areas are charming - but the rooms are best described as austere, spartan, and charmless (see photos). However, many of the rooms have small balconies off of them which allow for amazing views. The bathrooms were old and very small (see photos).

Breakfast was ok - meat, cheese, breads, a frittata, pastries, bread, juice, and hard boiled eggs.

There are amazing views from the hotel are either of a vineyard or San Gimignano.
Staff - nice and Friendly.
The pool and hot tub are wonderful.

In summary: My husband loved the hotel because of the outdoor space.
My kids liked the hotel because of the fabulous hot tub and "best hot chocolate".
Me: one night will suffice.

Great location for exploring the Tuscan countryside. The beds were not that comfortable and the breakfast was rather average. The staff were very friendly though. The pool was a great bonus as it was very hot when we were there. The hotel just ddnt feel very special.

We stayed at this charming villa with another couple and found it to be a great base for traveling around Tuscany. A car is a must, and if you are looking for the usual "hotel" type atmosphere, look elsewhere. Our rooms were large with balconies overlooking the vineyard. Staff was very welcoming, prices were very reasonable, and the house wine was delicious. Food is served only in the summer months and we were there in October, be we walked to a terrific restaurant just down the hill from the villa. Otherwise, you have to head into town (San Gimignanoe, 2 miles). From here we easily explored the region by car, many small towns and wineries, also Pisa. Loved this hotel!

If you have a car this will be a right choice, since is only 3km from the city centre of San Gimignano. The place is calm and very relaxing. The swimming pool is amazing and the rooms are also very nice (our view was directly to the city centre).
We had dinner in the city but we had breakfast in the hotel and that was the only disappointing part. I don't know if we were already late for the breakfast but the selection of food available was really sparse.
I guess if we come back we will stay in a hotel closer to the city, since it is amazing there.
