San Gimignano, July, early afternoon, no, you are not going to be alone. It's one of those Tuscan hill towns, where it seems every tourist bus must stop. And you can't blame them. It's a pearl in a region, full of gems. So what do you do to get away from "them" and their cameras? It's a tiny town with few streets. You go to DiVineria, order some local white wine, Vernaccia di San Girmignano preferably, sit under the umbrella, and watch the world turn. You'll get hungry. Order some olives, artichokes, tomatoes and olive spread over bread... Ecstasy! Thank Bacchus, and order another bottle. You are not driving, are you? Make it better. Check it to one the hotels in piazza, and have the town to yourself from 8pm to 8am.
