“The name says it”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

San Gimignano, July, early afternoon, no, you are not going to be alone. It's one of those Tuscan hill towns, where it seems every tourist bus must stop. And you can't blame them. It's a pearl in a region, full of gems. So what do you do to get away from "them" and their cameras? It's a tiny town with few streets. You go to DiVineria, order some local white wine, Vernaccia di San Girmignano preferably, sit under the umbrella, and watch the world turn. You'll get hungry. Order some olives, artichokes, tomatoes and olive spread over bread... Ecstasy! Thank Bacchus, and order another bottle. You are not driving, are you? Make it better. Check it to one the hotels in piazza, and have the town to yourself from 8pm to 8am.

We just spent 2 nights in San Gimignano and both nights began with a couple of yummy vinos here. Great atmosphere, lovely amusing host, Massimo, and some good nibbles. Also met some interesting folk from home and around Italy. Good spot !!

Dear Rosemary, thank you soo much for this review! Even though a year has passed I remeber you and your husband sitting close the door at drinking wines and write on your Ipad. When you come back in Italy I wait you on my store!!! All the best.

“Best view in San gimignano for aperitivo”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

I can't believe so few people have reviewed this place. While staying in San gimignano for 4 days we went here 3 times!
It is escentially a wine bar but dies fantastic small dishes and antipasto. Most nights we came early around 7.30 to have a glass of vino, some cold meats and watch the sun go down. They have around 5 benches and tables outside to seat 10 people overlooking the San gimignano vally - a view no other bar has. Get there early to get a spot but if you don't get a seat you can still drink outside taking in the views.
They do close at 9pm which seems crazy but it's a must go place in San gimigniano.
You can access the bar from the main square going down stairs through the bar to the outside or you can just come the back way following the signs down the street on your right before you reach the main square coming from the main gate of the city.
