Even though this place is just outside the walls of San Gimignano the food and ambiance more than makes up for its location (In our experience in Tuscany the closer to the tourist centre you get the less authentic and more expensive food). As many have mentioned it is only a small place so you better be early or late, and the tables are close together but that is something we felt added to the ambiance. The food was really good quality, you could tell it was fresh and local. We had cinghiale (wild boar) stewed in an olive sauce and papardelle with porcini mushrooms and they were both excellent... we also saw many other plates leaving the kitchen which looked just as tasty! A nice detail was the decoration around the edges of the plates which also were spices or things to add to the dish to enhance the flavours, so you could add to your own taste. Unfortunately we only found this place on our last night or we would definitely have returned as there were so many other things we wanted to try on the menu!!
