The AMAZING frescoes inside the place that tell bible stories...most of them seem to be cartoonish but they are in excellent condition and should be one of the top attractions in all of San Gimignano. It is ashame that you are not allowed to take photos within the church of all the frescoes

It is hard to understand how such a small town could have afforded the luxury of such a vast heritage of art, mostly sacred art. The pilgrims' route must have rendered well in the middle ages, as tourists do today. The town itself, so well preserved, is unforgettable.

It's not a big church, but has a lot of interesting features. I especially liked the depiction of hell on one of the frescoes. However, I think it's a bit too expensive. There are a lot of very nice churches with no entry fee around Tuscany. I found it weird that this wasn't for free, and we couldn't even take pictures without the flash.

this was our first stop on a tour of medieval italian towns
the town itself is compact and very attractive albeit somewhat touristfied rather than a working city - the duomo is barely worth a five minute glance and so comes out somewhat expensive
admire the town - where they sell the best ice cream we ate in more than 13 towns and cities - but unless you really are into religious art give it a miss

We, a school class from Germany, was visiting this place as a class trip. We said clearly at the information, that we wanted to visit the tower. The woman first rudely resist our request for group ticket, because our group was "to small" after showing her our papers and stuff, she randomly gave us the ticket of the dome. As we asked for the tower, everyone are directly leading us into the dom. After the mistake was "found", nobody was doing anything else than telling that there is nothing they could have done and it is just OUR mistake. Advice for everyone, don't come here
