Appartementi Casa la Torre - Nomipesciolini
Ranked #32 of 67 San Gimignano B&B and Inns
Reviewed July 17, 2013

The apartment is comfortable and endearing. Our views from the windows reminded each time we looked up that we were in a medieval town in the Tuscan countryside. Purchasing local foods and making simple breakfasts for ourselves gave us a taste of Tuscany that deepened our appreciation of the deliciousness of the place. San Gimignano is interesting in itself, but it's also a great launching point for day trips to Siena and the Chianti region. Claudio was hospitible and made our stay even more enjoyable. Casa la Torre--highly recommended!

This apartment was incredible. The location cannot be beat. The view onto Via San Matteo, the main street in San Gimignano, is amazing. It was wonderful to sip wine and watch the people strolling through the medieval walls. The view of the Tuscan countryside through the bedroom window is breathtaking. The apartment was clean and functional - it had everything we needed. The owners were so sweet and attentive. They really made the stay very special. We will definitely be back. Grazie mille Daniela e Claudio!

we were referred to this casa la torre by another unit owner in the town as his was booked out and his friends daniela and claudio had a apartment available for the dates we required, this turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to us, we arrived by bus and quickly found claudios brothers news agency and within minutes claudio arrived with his daughters english speaking boyfriend to translate anything we didn't understand, we were stunned when we saw the apartment, it was stunning, the main areas window opened directly onto the main street, below the window was a church, tourists and locals all mixed in well together, the first night we were there was the begininng of the medieval festival which went for 3 days, we were able to watch a lot from the apartment. the apartment was fully self contained, including wi-fi, the beds were comfortable and the whole apartment was spotless, we would love to come back again one day, during the festival we saw claudio many times and he always came over and introduced his companions, perfect hosts, thank you

This apartment is in a fantastic position in a beautiful city and the hosts could not be be more pleasant and helpful if they tried. Any minor problem they would rectify within 10 minutes. One day it was raining and Claudio turned up at the door with an umbrella for us. He drove our vehicle to the car park and handed me the keys to the garage and again on checkout brought the car around to the apartment for us. Do not be put off at all by the language barrier as they really try hard and one of the daughters speaks enough English anyway. We could not recommend the apartment more highly to anyone.

We loved this apartment. Is was well kept, clean and had wonderful views down cobbled streets. The owners met us, arranged parking and helped us get settled. This was our best stay so far in Tuscany. We loved the little town early in the morning and enjoyed walks around the city walls and at night it was quiet and great for dinner/drinks.

Good location to reach other towns and sites in the area, such as Sienna, Florence and Volterra.

Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.

When I visit Tuscany, I usually go to an agritourism; this time, though, the raniy weather made me change my mind: rather then being blocked in the mud of some small trail, I decided to look for a hotel or an apartment in a small town.
The choice couldn't be more lucky: San Gimignano is a striking medieval gem in the very heart of Tuscany, and Casa La Torre - Nomipesciolini is AWESOME.

The place has an incredbile location: just think that the house is located between one of the famous towers and a little adorable church. You're on via San Matteo, a few steps from the central square, Piazza del Duomo, that is a masterwork you'll never get bored to behold.

The apartment is very cozy, even if you have to bend a little in the bathroom (that is anyway nice and clean and with a good shower), perfectly clean, and warm in the winter. The kitchen, if you need it (and you don't want to taste San Gimignano's delicious cuisine) is well furnished,
The beed is comfortable enough.

But the best part is the view from the windows! The front one opens on via San Matteo itselfs, facing the church and an arch -and if there's no one walking by, you could easily believe you travelled back in time to the Middle Ages, the enchantment is flawless. The bedroom instead overlooks the town's roofs and a typical Tuscany valley... what more could you ask?

In the end, Daniela and Claudio, the owners, are very kind and helpful. There's one very negative critic, here on TA, that was complaining of a lack of directions to the place; actually Claudio misled us a little, too, and may be giving directions isn't his best... but we found the place anyway, and who cares for 5 more minutes, when you find someone so nice and ready to help you?

The only negative thing is that they seem not to accept credit cards. This is intollerantly common in Italy (a restaurant in San Gimignano didn't accept it, too), but frankly I always hope things will change: paying for two nights cash (as we did) can still be affordable, but for a week might be a problem. Ah, no wi.fi too, unfortunately (at least at the time of our visit, that was in low season).

Would highly recommend these apartments, so central, so cosy, so keeping with the character of San G! Italian hospitality at its best! Grazie Mille Daniela & Claudio!!!
