Based on top of a hill, this podere has amazing views of the Tuscan hills and, on a distance, San Gimignano. Very tranquil, very quiet, and very nice apartments!
We were staying in a 4p apartment with only the 2 of us, so we had loads of space. The apartments had everything we needed; two nice bed and bath rooms (one with a bath, one with a shower), a relatively new kitchen with oven and stove (with all the equipment, pots/pans and plates/cups you'd need), a nice marble dinner table for 6, and a living room with a couch and tv. As it was on the second floor, again we had beautiful views of the hills in all directions! No balcony tho.
The pool was quite large (I think 8 x 18 meters) with enough beds and chairs, overlooking the valley. I think it rained quite a lot the weeks before we arrived, cause the water was a bit chilly.
The apartment was very clean when we arrived. Plus they have a washing machine you can use for €3.
The PAM in Poggibonsi had everything we needed, and there's also a Coop in San Gimignano (bit smaller, but a lot cheaper tho). However, Il Pino is on top of a hill so the 'white' road will take you 10 minutes extra. Not a difficult road, but it ís an uphill dirt road, so my red car was grey after a week!

My wife and I had a fantastic holiday staying at podero il pino.
We had a 2 bed apartment which was lovely.
The views from the place are stunning, mwith a clear view on Sam gimigiano.
It was a bit difficult to locate the place initially but once we were there it was fantastic.
On arrival we were greeted by one of the staff couldn't speak much English which was a bit challenging, however he was very pleasant.
Very central location to explorer Tuscany and approx 10-15 min drive San gimigiano,
Handy supermarket called Pam very nearby in poggibonsi.
We some really relaxing times by the pool, with a beautiful, view

We loved our short stay with Matteo at Podere il Pino. The views are stunning, the pool and gardens are beautiful and the staff very helpful. Great base to explore the surrounding Tuscan countryside and towns. Would definitely recommend Podere il Pino.

My friend and I stayed at Podere Il Pino for 1 week in September 2012. Podere Il Pino had been recommended to us by one of the acquaintances who'd stayed there almost 10 years ago.

We never regretted our choice - the surroundings are very beautiful, especially the views of San Gimignano from the swimming pool and from the road leading to the property - you can see this in my photos. We stayed at Apartment 5 and it was quite large for us two :-) so that we could even host 2 friends who we absolutely unexpectedly ran into in San Gimignano!

But be prepared that the property is rather isolated and lacks any kind of food so you definitely need a car. For us it was not a problem because we didn't spend much time in Podere but very actively explored Tuscany by car - we visited San Gimignano, Volterra, Chianti, Siena and Pisa. All of them are not a long way from Podere il Pino but definitely worth visiting.

The staff was very helpful and though we didn't come to know Matteo who had had a car incident some time before, Cinzia and Franco and even other ladies who are responsible for cleaning and don't speak English at all tried to help us :-) We had a small problem with the fridge and some smell in the bathroom, but they were solved shortly.

Be sure to try those restaurants recommended by Matteo in the guest book and by Cinzia. Don't miss Chiribiri (San Gimignano), Il Frantoio (Colle di Val d'Elsa), La Sosta di Pio VII (on the road to Barberino - gorgeous meat!!).

Many thanks for our stay and memorable holiday in bellissima Toscana :-) We will be back :-)

My girlfriend and I were photographing a wedding at Podere il Pino and decided to make a bit of a holiday of it and stay for a few more days. We had the place strongly recommended to us by friends who had been before, and they weren't wrong! Absolutely stunning views and surroundings, and whether you are with your partner or family you're sure to have a great time.

It's true that the road up to it is a bit of a trek, but what a reward when you get to the top! The homely country apartments and villas, the pool surrounded by the gorgeous Italian countryside that sweeps down over vineyards into the valley below. In the evening the sunsets are fantastic, and even if you aren't into photography you'll want to capture it on your phone or something!

Across the valley, silhouetted against the horizon is the medieval city of San Gimignano, only 15 minutes drive away, with literally the best ice-cream in the world!

We'd happily recommend Podere il Pino and will definitely be back.
