Got married here last year. Amazing venue with its medieval frescos. Also must recommend climbing the tower for spectacular views.

“Make the climb - you won't be disappointed”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

It is worth the effort and the cost. The view from the top is good and must be spectacular if you are lucky enough to get a non-hazy day. The stairs are done safely, but you need a moderate level of fitness. The art in the Pinoteca is worth a quick look and the room Dante visited is also of some interest. Best, of course, if you do early when the crowds are smaller.

“I loved San Gimignano”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

I would say that my best memory of Italy was visiting San Gimignano. You have to go to the Torre Grossa and do the climb. The view is unbelievable. Also my best shopping was done there. Go visit.

“Lots of steps!”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

I tried to count the steps up to the top of the Torre Grossa but lost count however the view from the top was well worth the effort of the climb, but only on a clear day.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Fantastic frescoes adorn the walls inside this historic building. The Sala di Dante actually witnessed a visit by Dante himself, when he visited San Gimignano on an embassy from Florence, to plead for support for the Guelf party. The room is decorated with the same frescoes he saw as he presented his case to the council. Other rooms are rich with artwork too. And the energetic can climb the tower for a fantastic view of the city rooftops and towers
