We stayed for 2 nights in the old Palace. We were fortunate enough to have a 3 bedroom suit, which is a new area in the palace. Nothing was a bother to our host Marzia, so obliging. The apartment is right in the town Centre in one of the main streets. Breakfast was included with a delicious selection to choose from.

We stayed at the Residenza for a couple days in september.. Everything was exactly like the pictures we saw before we rented. Perfect location but the big difference was Marzia, our host.. she arranged all our restaurants, tours, etc. She is well connected in her community and made our experience there just perfect :)

The hotel was good, but it was misrepresented as having parking. This hotel DOES NOT HAVE parking. We were sent to park outside of the town on the road. We were lucky to find the spot, but we had to walk back on the highway with the cars passing us by with high speed. Very dangerous.

What a great place to stay, with wonderful staff who were always available to help us with our needs. The staff all spoke English well and when we arrived, Marzia was there to greet us and store our luggage for us in a safe, locked location until we could check into the apartment later in the afternoon. She recommended local restaurants and local sites for us to see, and we were off to see the sites within 45 minutes of arriving. The apartment itself is located in a historical palazzo, is very safe, clean, and nicely appointed. The bed is located on a loft up narrow stairs inside the apartment, and the apartment itself is also up a couple of short flights of stairs, but unless you are unable to climb stairs, it is perfect! The apartment windows overlook a beautiful historic courtyard. The atmosphere in the palazzo is very quiet. There was no air conditioning, but in September when we stayed, the nights were cool enough - especially when using the fan which was supplied to the apartment. Internet reception was good, and the apartment is a great location and walkable to all sites in San Gimignano. The village of San Gimignano is a jewel and if you haven't visited, then you must go! Be careful when finding a parking space outside the historic walls. Be sure you know where you are allowed to park. Parking lots are often full, and we accidentally parked in a lot in which the cars were supposed to vacate before morning so a street sweeper could sweep, and we got a ticket! However, the ticket was easily paid at the local post office very near the apartment with no problem before we left the town. I would definitely use Marzia's apartment again and recommend her services to others.

We really enjoyed our stay there! Sam Gimignano was for me one of the most beautiful places in Tuscany, as all the houses inside the wall are left as they were back in the middle ages (all made of stones). It is a very special feeling to sleep in a little appartment surrounded by stones :)
Car parking available by a 5-10mins walk from the appartment (you can drive into the city and leave your lugagge there and then go parking).
Thanks for having us!

Room tip: I think we had room no 7- but not sure anymore...
