I stayed at the Palazzo for 2 nights, 6-7 Sept at a rate of EUR40 per night (single/room only) booked direct with the B&B. San Gimi is only a small town, so any location within the town walls is fine - it only took me 1 hour to walk the entire perimeter of the town walls via the guided pathway.

When I booked this place, I wanted to stay in an original palazzo in keeping with the ambiance of San Gimignano. This is a fantastic 50 room palazzo belonging to Pierluigi and his family and it really was an authentic stay. Pierluigi explained how the building is heritage listed and therefore every renovation plan must go through correct council channels for approval so the renovations take a long time and cost a fortune. Some rooms are already renovated, and some are existing standard. Pierluigi showed me a fantastic little family suite on the ground floor with its own courtyard where works have been completed and it was just lovely.

I was in room 6, 2 single beds side by side in its original state with my own bathroom. It was very good value for money, although I should have requested a renovated room and paid a bit more as I found it a bit too old for my taste (see my photos). It was however clean and neat. There was no air conditioning - luckily it was already Sept so not too hot. The shower in the bathroom only has a curtin and no shower recess so the bathroom does get flooded.

I loved San Gimignano - much more so than Siena - suggest you stay at San Gimi which is less expensive and then just do a day trip to Siena. I found Siena somewhat lacking atmosphere compared to San Gimi and apart from Il Campo and Duomo, I was disappointed with Siena and wished I stayed in San Gimi the extra nights instead.

All in all, I enjoyed my stay as Pierluigi was such a great host - just make sure you understand what you are booking - the newly renovated family room was great as were some of the double rooms. It is fascinating to be in such a hugh old building where you get lost amongst all the corridors and stairways!

The palazzo is a lovely old building. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. Pierluigi was very helpful with my heavy suitcase and with supplying discounts for restaurants. The location was very close to the San Matteo gate which should be kept in mind as if you enter via the San Giovanni gate you have quite a walk to be dragging luggage. The price was good value. There is no wifi if that's a consideration, and no elevator.

We wanted to stay in the heart of the Tuscany and fortunately we got a B&B with the Palazzo direct in the ancient town of San Gimignano. You still can recognize it from far away when you travel to this region if you see the towers of the "skyline".
With the stay at the Palazzo you will become a part of this city for a while because you will live inside the old town walls and you can feel the spirit it.
The Palazzo is located in the near of one of the big gate to the town, you will get a good advice from the staff where you can park the car safe in the near of this gate.
The staff is very friendly a will help you to get along in the town. You will get some good tip where you can eat and the best way to become acquainted with San Gimignano. It is really worth to stay one hole day in the town and also to walk some ways around the city to see the nice environment. Because you can get no breakfast you will get some good dicounts in some restaurants and cafés in the town with the business-card of the staff, not just for breakfast. The rooms were equipped simple but functional, the bath on the floor could be busy sometimes in the morning, but it was ok for holiday.
A must-have is to go on the public tower, you will get a perfect view over the town and the beautifull landscape.
One special restaurant we enjoyed a lot was the Le Vecchie Mura, the staff will tell you where to go.

This B&B was in a wonderful historic building, and our room was quite large. It was quite far from the main entrance to San Gimignano, but close to everything once you made it there. We had a room with a shared bathroom which we probably wouldn't do again, since it was often occupied. The owner was super friendly and helpful, and had agreements with restaurants in the town where you would get a discount which was great! The only bad thing was checking in since we arrived during check in times but no one was there. We had another couple let us in and contact the owner that we wanted to check in, but this was after waiting outside on the steps for about an hour. If you have a cell phone along it shouldn't be a problem!

it's a beautiful old building, located in the city center. Price is very reasonable considering the overall quality of the hotel. Guests staying at small rooms need to use a shared bathroom with other guests, but not that troublesome. Guests can get discounts at couples of restaurants around the hotel!

We made a reservation on this hostel last minute and were happy we were able to find an accommodation during the high season. The location is just great, it's in the old town of San Gimignano, close to the gate dividing the old city center with the rest. First I have to really appreciate how helpful the staff was, we were told about the free parking, about all the nearby interesting events, but also we got a discount to nearby bakery for breakfast and some restaurants which was very nice at first day of our holiday. Pallazzo Buonaccorsi is old palazzo, so you can't expect great luxury, but it was nice and clean, even thought that our room (room 4) would need new paint, it was really absolutely clean and comfortable. There is obviously no air condition, so it was a little too hot, but we spent most of the time outside, so we didn't really bother. The bathroom was really small, with shower and toilet all together (open shower), which is little uncomfortable because there is water all over the bathroom, but it was pretty clean and there was a rug to dry it:-)
As some other travelers mentioned it's a little noisy, but thats the price you pay for being in the city center. We live in city center in Prague also, so we are used to that kind of noise, so it didn't really interrupt our sleep.
We also really appreciated that we were allowed to have our dog with us as it's sometimes a problem, so we had to really thank the staff for it and also for great service:-)

chose this B&B reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. First of all, it is more than in the centre of the town! It is in a are in which you (in theory) cannot enter. You can do that only to bring your luggage. The building is really evocative. It is like it would be 300years ago. The owner tells us they are restoring ancient freschi that are now under the plaster. In fact, in every room, there is a piece of that.
Forniture and beds are antique (quite comfortable, however) and appealing. They gives you towels (very clean) and sheets. The bathroom were in common but it is actually very clean and we shared only with one couple.
The owner is also available to suggest you restaurant but the restaurant we choose was not so good. They have some agreement for discounts with clients, maybe they try to advertise. Be careful, they don't give you breakfast, they have an agreement with a bar nearby to have a little discount.
The only problem is that there is no lift, stairs are old and not very comfortable... It is part of the evocative appeal of the place and I hope they will not change them! But take it into account when you book this B&B.
They also suggest you a place to park the car without paying (it is legal, obviously ;) ).

I can obviously advice it, there can't be nothing so near the town centre!
