“Great location - good for a stop off.”
Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

As we walked in, there was a nice interior. The woman on reception was very rude and was like this throughout our stay. It took a shine off the other hotel staff which was such a shame because they were all so nice. We had a meal in the restaurant the first night which was reasonably priced.
Room: Double aspect. Opposite an underpass. Room smelt heavily of smoke.
Sleep was interesting - heard every noise going past. Room at opposite side to train line, however still heard everything. Over the restaurant could here all chairs scraping on floor. Overall a very disturbed sleep. Noise not as bad second night.
Breakfast: large variety of foods, ham, cheese, toast, fresh fruit, croissants (with and without glaze) donuts, juices, cereals and coffee.
Evening: When we got back we had a cocktail in the hotel. Used all concentrated juices for my piña colada, so didn't taste as nice. Checkout 12pm which is good and free parking at the back.

Pisa: Takes about 10 mins to walk to piazza and tower. €2 for cathedral. Ticket office signposted well. Best to go early mornings or evening to see sunrise/sunset. Not much else to do in Pisa.
Walked in early evening (not a nice walk back in the dark) decided to go up the Leaning Tower €15 each. Had an introduction at the bottom before walking up. Sights were lovely although wish we'd gone a little earlier to catch the sunset. Went for dinner near the tower. Best Pizzas we've had all honeymoon!! Had herbs to enhance taste. Walked back in dark aware of lots of men groups around us.

Walked to Pisa train station to get a train to Lucca, took about 20 minutes. Ticket machines can be translated in English and are easy to use.
Lucca : (beautiful Tuscan walled
city) Lots of wandering streets, can hire segways at torture museum (they have these in every city we've been too) as well as bikes. Can get quadruple bikes which are quite fun to ride on the city walls.
Viareggio: (short journey by car) we visited for a drink and to look at the boats, these are very big, power and yachts. Apparently beaches are all private - these are apparently at a cost although we did not go to one.
If driving, watch out for mopeds, they seem to come from everywhere.

Overall: good location, easy to explore local cities and most of the staff are extremely friendly!!

Typical European room, small, ac on a fixed temp, clean, decent accommodations. What you would expect for around 80-100 euro. Breakfast is fantastic. Staff is attentive to buffet. Outdoor courtyard is nice to enjoy. They have an apertivo and free internet on hotel-owned computers or your own in the lobby. I would stay here again. For a more "touristy" approach, I would choose the Duomo. Food is hard to find if you arrive late. Order takeout from the indian place if you can.

Room Tip: Request right side of hallway which faces the outdoor courtyard and parking lot instead of the road.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and were not disappointed. The room was comfortable, with air conditioning, wifi and an excellent breakfast. The actual location of the hotel could be better, being on a busy road, near the railway and right next to an underpass which you had to use in order to get to the main attractions of Pisa. Having said that it was only a 10 minute easy walk. The car park is a real bonus. The only negative point we would make was that the carpet in the room was very worn and not very nice which created a feeling that the room was in need of refurbishment. Apart from that the rest of the hotel, bars and restaurant were very comfortable. We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was very quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room a the rear of the hotel.

The hotel is very convenient for the Piazza dei Miracoli and Tower, just 10 minutes on foot. The hotel is bright and clean, the surrounding area is not great, but the convenience of being near the sights makes up for it.
Lovely breakfast, helpful and polite staff

We spent 3 nights here and were very well looked after by friendly helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice served inside or on a terrace. An outside patio and a grassy sunbed area . Hotel bikes to borrow to explore Pisa .
Close to airport and only 30 minutes from coast . We had the added bonus of using the facilities at a sister hotel by the beach .
We had a most enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel.

It depends what you mean by average. We usually stay in reasonably good hotels so this is average for the kind of hotels we stay in but could, using differnt criteria, be considered very good! This was conveniently placed for both the railway station (as long as you go to the right station - not central) and the airport and about 15 minutes from the Tower. A modern hotel, it had the usual failure of being able to hear people in the corridors and, being near to the airport, hearing people getting up to catch early flights. We ate there in the evening and for breakfast and the food was fine. The staff were polite and helpful
