My boyfriend and I only stayed for one night in this hotel, but we would definitely go back. We arrived late afternoon and made our way on foot from the station to the hotel. A bit of a trek with luggage...but not too far really.
It is a little out of the way, down a small side street at the end of the main high street, but we didn't have any problems finding it.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable and the shower was amazing! I could have stood in it for hours!
The hotel is really close to the tower which we were really surprised about, just a few minutes walk and there it is!
I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed on the top floor, the lift stopped a floor below, but the room was very comfortable and well designed. Might be slightly challenging to locate it because it in a side alley just before the large road that leads to the tower.

Room Tip: Very close to the tower of Pisa.

The hotel is very close to Pisa tower. Thats about it. Nothing else can be added as a plus to this hotel. Rooms are extremely small, lift is claustrophobic, and AC can work better. We went in June and the summer heat was on. Breakfast is basic.

We were very happy with our 4 night stay. The room was spotlessly clean, the furnishings all looked very new and the bed was comfortable. Likewise the bathroom: presumably it has been recently fitted, as it was immaculate, everything worked, and there were always plenty of hot water and clean towels.
The staff were pleasant; only one of the people on reception was actually chatty but all were helpful when asked for advice.
Breakfast was good - the usual selection of cold meat, cheese, jams and cakes and cereal - and always plenty and kept topped-up. And good coffee, of course!
On the slightly down side, the room wasn't very big - probably it would seem rather cramped for a long stay. Our room was in the front overlooking the street, which was nice but there was a bit of noise from happy students on Friday night. (There are a LOT of students in Pisa!) But we were happy to accept this as the price for such a beautifully central location, close to everything and in the heart of the old city. And in November, a very good price.

This hotel was good and bad and funny.
Hotel staff 2 people out of the whole lot of staff actually attempted to speak to you the others didn't even look at you and reception just gave you keys :-(

Place was clean - hygenically except tops of wardrobes

Air con - hit and miss and alot of leaking in our friends room

Bathroom - well our room you had to sit on the loo sideways to go ha ha !!
Towels and linen were immaculate and my bed was beautifully corrected every day.

Room without a view - opened to the aircon blowers below :-(

Breakfast, basic, tasty and always topped up with a good cup of tea and coffee

Roof terrace, view great, hardly anywhere to sit or anything loungy to lie on.

All in all, if it is a stop gap place you are after it was great. Not something for the family or a long stay.

Still, I enjoyed myself with my girlfriends as a birthday gift plus it was a little break from the children. :-)

Room Tip: Sleep at the back of the hotel and not the front for a weekday break as the noise is awful.

We were a bit cautious about Hotel Di Stefano after reading mixed reviews but I have to say we were really pleased with our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The room was very clean and well kept, the mattress appeared to be a memory foam - it was extremely comfortable, the bathroom looked to have been fairly recently installed and the room size was perfectly acceptable if not massive.

The staff were very friendly and we were made to feel extremely welcome and the location is almost perfect being just a 5 minute stroll from the leaning tower and the excellent restaurants around it.

The only negatives were that breakfast consisted of cereal, toast, bread rolls, jam, croissants, yogurt, ham and cheese which meant your choices were fairly limited. Some days there was a cake or something but after a week of eating the same thing it got a bit tedious. I would have liked to have seen a few more choice such as fresh fruit and perhaps different meats and cheeses instead of the same ham and the same cheese every day.

Also the bar is basically part of the reception and is not somewhere you would really want to use for a relaxing evening drink but there are plenty of other bars nearby.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and if we go back to Pisa we would certainly look to stay at Hotel Di Stefano again.

Just as a side note, we got a taxi from the airport direct to the hotel and it only cost 10 Euros, I think the train is only just over a euro each but the hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the train station so for ease and convenience I would recommend getting a taxi.

Hotel Di Stefano provides really great value for the visitors:
- managed and serviced by very friendly people, 3rd generation of the family which started the business, and they do care about it; they will help you on first ask
- location is perfect, and what else can it be in historical Pisa - from this hotel every corner of it can be reached within 15 minutes walking, including train station
- the rooms are nice (everything was quite new) and clean, and cleaned every day, towels and bed linen replaced in time, etc; there are rooms of different type, suitable for solo, pairs, families
- the breakfast is good, light yet gives enough energy for a day
- the hotel is baby- and seniors- friendly, elevator and chairs are present

Room Tip: When selecting a room, account for the basic geography and surroundings - rooms with windows to the...
