“all in all good value / good location”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

I recently stayed at this hotel with my cousin. its a 3 min walk from the tower, and 5 mins (in the other direction) from the main shops/ bars. so a V good location. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English, certainly better than my Italian.

We booked 2 rooms (4 nights) and our rooms shared a balcony at the back of the hotel (rooms 201/202). It was a sun trap in the afternoon and we could just about see the top of the tower. I dont think any other rooms had balconies. Certainly not at the front of the hotel/ facing the road. the basic facilities in the room were just that. . basic. BUt certainly nothing to complain about (for the price). Our rooms had a tv (all italian channels). The air con worked a treat. just 5 mins after turning it on the room was icy cold! Bathroom area was clean and fine.
In the rooms we did have a kettle but no cups or milk/ tea/coffee!! ( i suppose if you want a drinkl you have to ask for these).

Breakfast was ok, just ok. One cereal choice only was a little restrictive if you dont like Corn Flakes. sometimes there was fresh fruit also. toast and traditional italian cakes were the main offer. The coffee was lovely though.
Also from the breakfast area you could sit on the outside balcony and have a good view of the tower.

All in all for the price we paid we can have no complaints about this hotel. Though tbh i think our experience was made better by sharing a balcony.

Room Tip: The only rooms with a balcony are 201/202. They share a big balcony with a table at the back of the...

This small and clean hotel is on the main street leading to the Piazza Duomo, only a couple of minutes from the major attractions. Despite this proximity, our room on the third floor overlooked the Botanic Gardens and was very quiet. Leaning out of our window we could see the top of the famous tower. Our twin room was clean and of a good size, though the bathroom was cramped and the shower will give you bruised elbows if you are not careful.

The breakfast room on the first floor has a pleasant open-air terrace with a view of the tower, and the breakfasts themselves offer a range of foods in the continental style.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but they need to step up their maintenance schedule to ensure that they keep the hotel in the higher ratings. We had light globes that did not work, a washbasin plug that would not close correctly, a bathroom fan that screamed like a banshee (so was unused in the morning out of consideration for other guests), and a hair dryer which worked in occasional twenty second bursts and had exposed wiring connecting it to the wall.

On a note of personal preference, the bath towels may have been the latest thing in modern fibre (or something cheap from the markets!) but they had the appearance and effectiveness of a tablecloth. Give me thick and fluffy every time.

For those who may be wondering, two nights is the maximum needed for a stay in Pisa, allowing you to do the famous historical sites one day and wander about the town on the other. One night will be sufficient for many if you can start early.

Room Tip: A room facing the Botanic Gardens will allow you to hear the blackbirds singing.

Just came back from our vacation in Pisa. There are two good things about the hotel - nice friendly staff and it is situated really close to the tower. The room itself felt like living in a cave. The floor is made of cold stone tiles so we had to put a blanket on it to be able to walk. The bathroom was clean but old, the shower door was broken and you had to wait quiet a while to get water to flush the toilet. Wi-fi didn't work! Ok breakfast but not much to choose and you had to wait for every roasted piece of bread and coffee (but waitress was very nice). However the ceiling was nice, it felt like sleeping in a cave! Still really good memories and a cozy little place.

Room Tip: bring slippers - the floor is freaking cold (in April anyway)

We stayed here in the height of summer season. We flew in to Pisa and bases here 2 nights. We booked room with airport transfer. Our flight was very much delayed and when we eventually left airport in Dublin I rang hotel and they had been monitoring flights and knew about delays!
We arrived very late at night, driver friendly and chatty all the way in!
Hotel on quaint street which was like stepping back in time!
The room was very basic however in the morning opened up our balcony door and there it was "The Leaning Tower"..... What more would any tourist want??????? We had our own little seating area with this lovely view....
Pisa itself is disappointing and 1 night stay is more than enough!! We did the tower area that morning. We bought tickets and hot our time slot.... Walked around the field of miracles and then toured the tower!
We also did "hop on hop off" bus which was sad to see they once such a majestic port city has been left decay....
At night watch the bats!!!!!!!!!!
Man at hotel recommend local place for dinner down by water... Fab!!!
Ideal location !!

Great price, location 1 minute walk to tower. Pisa is quite small so easy walk to most areas.
Staff were helpful and pleasant. Plenty of shops and food places close by. There were 3 adults in one room 3 single beds were provided which was great.

Stayed for a long weekend. The hotel is located minutes away from the leaning tower and restaurants. It's clean, staff are friendly and it's all for a great price. There's somewhere to leave your luggage if you have a late flight.

We have just returned home from a weekend in Pisa, the city is beautiful, sadly the same can not be said about our hotel. our room was on the second floor (directly opposite the lift, room 201) first impressions were that the room needed a coat of paint, plaster flaking off the walls, lights in bathroom were damaged and plug for shaving in bathroom did not work. the towels were also thin and rough. however, we overlooked this as we were not expecting 5 star quality. when we returned from our night out, we were made aware of a couple in the next room, you could hear what they were saying clearly, and also heard the majority of their intimate encounter!! The WiFi did not work, so we were unable to use our mobiles. On our last day (Tuesday, 6th November) we were awoken at 7am by workmen drilling and hammering in the next room. when we checked out,at 11am we asked if we could leave our luggage in a secure area, as our flight was not untill 10pm, we were told no, as the hotel is closing as it was the end of the season. this meant we had to carry two large suitcases around Pisa for the rest of the day. only positive experience was the location, situated 100 metres from the tower. there are also some lovely restaurants nearby. overall, Beautiful city, Poor hotel.
