Touring Tuscany, Pisa was our last stop. On a rainy dark day the tower and duomo upon entering from a narrow street is spectacular. The details on the buildings is magnificent and you cannot help but be in awe of the feat of building this so long ago. Not to be missed.

It's free to go in - but you do need to get a ticket from the ticket office. The ceiling is very gold.

The incredible exterior is matched by the incredible interior of this building. An amazing structure.

The decoration inside is amazing/glorious... so rich and beautiful. We didn't have to queue for long - it was 10.30 in the morning. You had to cover your shoulders (they gave you a piece of cloth/cape) but it was beautiful inside. So much gold, huge paintings on the walls, a quirky modern lecturn that looked a little out of place.. but otherwise a very beautiful building inside and out.

The Duomo is simpler compared to some other places I visisted, but has an interesting story and wonderful pieces of art. Take the necessary time to walk around all the wall and do not forget to look at the ceiling.
