“Near some exceptional restaurants”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

This is a small hotel in more of a business area of Pisa rather than the touristy area. It is across the river from the compound where the Leaning Tower is, so it's a quieter location. The hotel itself is right on the street, so you do get some traffic noise if your room is on the front, as ours was. You really can't keep your windows open at night, but that wasn't a problem for us. There was air conditioning. The hotel is very well kept, and the staff very friendly and helpful. There is only 1 elevator, which was extremely small and slow. Only one two people and their suitcases can fit in it at a time. Not really a problem though. By far the best thing about this hotel is that it's located in an area with some fabulous restaurants. The food we had here was by far better than anything we had during our 5 days in Florence. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of the restaurants we tried, but just ask for a recommendation for somewhere close by at the front desk, and they will not stear you wrong. It's also a fairly easy walk to the Leaning Tower from this hotel. Walking back from there the crowds get thinner and thinner and the surroundings quieter and quieter. My husband and I walked back to the tower late at night, and it was so peaceful and beautiful there. It was like we had it all to ourselves. I highly recommend doing that.

Room Tip: Might be a good idea to ask for a room that's not on the front of the hotel, to avoid traffic no...

Friendly staff, design hotel, with paintings everywhere, the best breakfast in Italy, big rooms full facilities, private parking, in the best place of Pisa, peacefull and in the centre of the town. Staying there you can visit all Toscane. I will be happy to stay there again.

We chose this hotel following Tripadvisor rating. INdeed, the hotel is good, rooms clean and spacious, breakfast superb, location very good half-way between the railway station and the old town, a few meters from the main shopping street, very quiet.
Front desk personnell professional, even if not very welcoming and service oriented.

Room Tip: if you are a non-smoker insist on a room without an ashtray. In case Wifi is important, check that y...

The hotel is a short walk from the railway station and not difficult to find. You know you've booked the right hotel when you immediately feel welcomed upon stepping into the lobby. Free muffins just beside the concierge, and internet stations are just the icing on the cake. Room was a quadruple. Spacious and very clean, together with a bathroom stocked with amenities and free wireless internet, what more can you ask for? I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Pisa.

I was traveling alone and the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. They picked me up at the train station and got me to the airport. It was just what I needed. The rooms are small but I was only there one night so it worked out perfectly.

This hotel basically has everything you need for a pleasant stay. Staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast buffet offers a wide range of foods (unusual for Italy) and there is free wifi. Pisa is not a very large city, so all the must-sees are in an easy walking distance from the hotel, and so is the railway station. Based on the stories others participants of my congress, this hotel is certainly one of the best you can get in this price-category!

Overall we were happy with the choice of hotel - good location, good value for money and a decent room. As always, there are areas for improvement, but most people would be happy with this choice.

Positives:
- Room was clean, good size and contains the facilities most people would expect.
- Reasonable wide choice of breakfast foods for a small hotel, although it is the same every day
- Good location - away from main thoroughfares (although you get some buses passing outside during the day), but close enough to walk to town centre, leaning tower, station and main shopping street
- Free wifi + internet terminals
- Free water and cakes in reception for a quick snack

Negatives:
- Room smelled of stale cigarette smoke
- Although generally helpful, we had a couple of fairly basic requests that reception staff could not help with.
- There is only one lift serving the hotel which is quite small and old and can be busy in the morning.

One other point, not about the hotel, is that having booked a four day trip to Pisa, we felt we had done everything we wanted to do in one day. Therefore when planning you trip, do consider looking at spending a day in Florence and maybe hiring a car and driving north to places like Lucca (an old walled city) and the mountains - there are some great mountain roads.
