I stayed in this hotel not too long ago, what a disapointment!
Food is a disgusting, not even for pigs!!! I ordered a steak, it was really really a disgusting. Breakfast not to much for your choice... and if you want a fried or scrambled egg you need to pay extra... and unfortunately a ordered some bacon and scrambles egg when the waiter served it looked like a mushrooms , the waiter realized I was chocked to see it, and inmediately antecipated and asked if I'd like to change, I said, I cannot eat it, so he took back to the kitchen and later he came with something really horrible in the plate... dark and covered in fat,.. what a disgusting! for 4 star hotel, it is a disgusting.
PLEASE, be carefully before you make a reservation in this hotel,.. it much better stay in B&B.
PS: I head the Cheffs are just 2 yung guys, and I believe they don't have a clue how to cook a meal.
The barman a 75 yars old gentleman was very professional, the hotel was clean and the hotel position is very good.

Don't be put off by the rather drab exterior, this is a really nice friendly hotel with excellent service. The rooms are in need of some renovation but are clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. The rooms on the back are very quiet. Situated in a road which leads to the leaning tower it is lined with cafés and restaurants. Pisa is joy and I would thoroughly recommend the place for a long weekend.

My boyfriend picked out this hotel and we weren't disappointed, the room did indeed have a great view of the tower and was 1 min away. Meant that we could get up early and go get some photos with no one else about. There's also a roof terrace where you can sit and enjoy the view. The staff were helpful and didnt seem to mind too much when we got home and found the room key in a pocket! The room was clean and tidy with a nice on suite. It could be a little noisy in the morning as the locals go to work but nothing too bad.

We stayed in this hotel for one night. One night too long. In general the hotel was old and dated, it looked like it had not been renovated since the 1980's. The room although spacious smelt of something strong and disgusting. We asked to change rooms and were told that the alternatives were in a far worse condition! The room was not clean in that it was filled with dust and we got to share it with some vicious bed bugs. My husband and son both woke up with bad colds from the dust. Breakfast was another horror story. The food on offer was the cheap kind you would find at your local supermarket. If you wanted something 'special' like Italian coffee at this 4 star Italian hotel you had to pay extra. Scrambled eggs and orange juice were also extra. These are things that should come as standard. Leaving the hotel was the best part.

Room Tip: choose a different hotel

Just returned from two days at the Grand Duomo. Great location only 100 metres from the Leaning Tower and a rooftop terrace that provides a really good view of the tower. The terrace has a nice seating area - we took our drinks up there in the early evening at sunset and had great views over Pisa and of the tower.

Staff we're very helpful; the breakfast had good options and the rooms were clean with easy wifi. parking on site was very handy, but a bit expensive at €25 a night.

We had a day in Florence - the main station is only half an hour or 5 minutes and 6 euros in a taxi.

We ate in a couple of local restaurants - both very good value and good quality food.

We would return to the Duomo as it is the perfect location for a break in Pisa.

We thought that the hotel seemed magnificent as we entered - very grand and luxurious as the name suggests. We were extremely disappointed with our room though. The window didn't seem to close properly and so we had constant traffic/people noise as the hotel is on a busy street and on the main route to the tower. The room was only just big enough to move around in, our bedcover could have done with being washed although the sheets and pillowcases were very clean. The bathroom seemed fine until we showered and discovered that the screen didn't hold in the water so the bathroom floor ended up like a wetroom. Toilet could have done with a good scrub down inside.... Breakfast was just OK. You have to pay extra if you want fresh juice or hot drinks as otherwise it's from a machine. Some strange things served - I took what I thought was yoghurt it was actually more like a panna cotta with fruit in the bottom! Probably the best feature of the hotel is the 5th floor where you have a marvellous view of the leaning tower and duomo.

Room Tip: If you choose a basic room, be prepared for a really small one. Otherwise, invest in a suite!

Very pleasant stay at Grand Hotel Duomo and you could not be closer to the Leaning Tower. Was even able to get a park for our van only a block up the road. Breakfast included which was great.
Lovely clean room and comfortable bed. Very generous bathroom all in marble and very clean.
Would recommend this hotel and so convenient to airport as well...only 15 minutes away.
