Looking for a place close to the Palazzo dei Congressi where I was going to be attending a 4 day conference, I found Il Mattino via Trip Advisor. All of the compliments and wonderful reviews helped me make my selection and I was so happy I chose Il Mattino. The location was wonderful for me...a quick walk to the conference, a bit longer walk to the Leaning Tower but via a non-car boulevard with many interesting shops. Monica, the hostess, was friendly, warm, and so hospitable besides being terrifically helpful. She had a great map of Pisa and was able to show me various routes to the conference, grocery market (huge Coop), tourist attractions, and restaurants. Upon entering the B and B, which looks like an ordinary house front, you find yourself in a beautiful foyer which is clean and inviting. My room was upstairs...a clean and well -appointed room which was a single but with a huge bed, an armoire, air conditioning if needed, and plenty of room to put my things. There was hot water for tea and Monica provided the milk for it upon request. The bathroom was clean and supplied with an ample amount of toiletries and towels. Breakfast was delicious with homemade quiche, cakes, cereal, yogurt, meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, juices and choice of hot beverages. Monica's cappuccino was wonderful. I drove and Monica directed me to a free and safe parking area about a 5 minute walk away. The help and advice given couldn't have been more helpful. I wasn't planning on visiting Pisa on my next trip to Italy in 2013 but am definitely going to do so now and will stay at Il Mattino again.
